Will it be 4 in a row?

Tomorrow, Saturday 7 September, AB Gladsaxe will try to win the fourth game in a row when Thisted FC visits Gladsaxe Stadium.

The referee of the match, Oliver Alexander Stegemüler Fogh Simbold, blows the whistle for the match at 15:00.
To carry out a good refereeing performance, he has the help of Yasin Seker and Anders Randrup on the lines.

AB and Thisted FC usually play some very equal and exciting matches, where the winning team only wins with an excess goal.

The last time the two teams met each other was 28 October 2023 at Sparekassen Thy Arena, where AB won 1-0 on a goal by Emiliano Gomez. A month earlier, AB had won at Gladsaxe Stadium with 21 over Thisted FC on a goal by Adrien Koudelka and Darren Sidoel. A small streak that is very much allowed to continue on Saturday.

Thisted FC lost their last match at home at Sparekassen Thy Arena with 10 to Næstved. A game that Thisted FC according to their own statement should never have lost, after they had fallen behind after just five minutes on an own goal. But even with tremendous pressure through the club, they never got the ball in behind Næstved’s goalkeeper.

AB comes to the match with a lot of confidence after the great 1-0 victory over BK Frem in Valby last Saturday, where O’Vonte Mullings poked the ball over the line.

There are no suspensions for any of the teams.

AB’s head coach, Joey Gudjonsson, emphasizes the development of the squad, which has made AB a difficult team to face.

“We will continue the good beats from the last game. The attitude and willingness of the players to work hard and fight for all opportunities, must be top-notch. We have become stronger in the individual duels and in defence we have also become stronger, so we are difficult to beat,” says the head coach.

Gudjonsson assesses tomorrow’s opposition to be a physical and defensive team.

“We know that Thisted is a team that plays defensively and they are quite solid in the defensive part. It is also a physical team, and we have to be ready for that. We have to be aggressive with and without the ball. We want to be ready from the first second and give a good fight and fight for a home win,” concludes Joey Gudjonsson.

Striker Christian Wagner will be hoping to add another win to the table against Thisted.

“I hope and believe that we can pick up the fourth win in a row. Right now we have a really strong momentum, and I think we are playing really good football. We have to work hard and follow our GamePlan, which has been laid. The match against Frem was The war home with lots of duels, especially in the 2nd half. We have to take that with us and that is what we have benefited from in recent matches,” says Wagner and elaborates:

“We have to create chances and play entertaining football, which I think we have done in the majority of the games. There were just a few periods against Frem, where we were pressed a little bit to the bottom. I think we show character and resist. We must expect that we will sometimes be pressured, and here it is important that we resist.”

Like his head coach, Wagner also sees the physical aspect as Thisted’s great strength.

“Thisted are very duel strong and they play very direct football. Their strength is the physical, so we have to be ready for it to end with a little ‘ fight’. The starting point is that we have to go out and play, and we have to be better than them on all parameters,” says the striker.
