Aarhus Fremad cemented their position in 1st place, and it now turns out that AB with a final position as number six in the promotion playoffs in the next match will take on Aarhus Fremad.

AB started with the same line-up as in the match against Nykøbing FC, where Albert Gaub-Jacobsen had the goalkeeper position. in central defence were Noah Ibsen and Pachanga Kristensen. On the right side of the defense was Steven Simpson and on the left side Rasmus Brodersen. In the central midfield were Ægir Jarl Jonasson and Agust Hlynsson and on the wings O’Vonte Mullings and Casper Grening. At the top played Tobias Hageltorn and Noah Engell Christensen, who was also captain.

The match started at a high pace, where Aarhus Fremad put pressure on AB, and that led toae also some dangerous corner kicks. AB st od well on the pitch and in defence andfikke fended off the pressure. Throughout the match, Aarhus Fremad showed the quality of their interaction. The play started from the goalkeeper, who played out to the nearest defender and from there embroider they made their way up the pitch with short passes.

ABthey played their way into the game and at times did not press the game up on Aarhus Fremad’s half of the field. This ledto However, not significant chances. It was close to scoring when Albert Gaub-Jacobsen had come too far forward on the pitch after a bad pass. Fortunately, the Aarhus Fremad player did not shoot at goal, but drove the ball forward and finished, but the ball hit the crossbar. Shortly after ha We had a great chance when Pachanga Kristensen came highest on a corner kick, but he headedit on the post.

Pachanga Kristensen wasagain in focus, as he then fended off the a shot on the line. Rasmus Brodersen b Andt Noah Engell Christensen at the back post, but unfortunately attempt past the goal. Aarhus Fremad ha A rather dangerous shot, which ended upin the side netting.

Casper Grening had the chance to score, but the finish hitthe near post.

Again, pressure arose on AB’s defense, and the ball wasblown away not kicked out of the field. It exploits Aarhus Fremad’s Elias Caspersen Egerton and increasethe lead to 2-0.

AB came out well for the 2nd half and pushed Aarhus Fremad back on the field. Aarhus Fremad lurked in transitions, and played their way to opportunities that were averted by AB’s defence. Tobias Hageltorn worked hard in the first pressure, and also came to a good finish, which was evenclose to the goal.

Casper Grening reducedthem to 1-2 after a few moves and really good shoots along the ground. Aarhus Fremad was outnumbered in an attack, but always fighting Agust Warmnson cast the Went down in a perfect block of the shot and the ball came out of the danger zone. Aarhus Fremad played well and Albert Gaub-Jacobsen had to box the ball away several times.

During the 2nd half, Søren Ilsøe replaced Ægir Jonasson in midfield, and Mikkel Nielsen took over right back from Steven Simpson. After 72 minutes, it was good to see that Marco Ramkilde came on the pitch for his first game of the spring after an injury period and replaced Tobias Hageltorn. At the end of the game, Frederik Lindgaard came on the field and O’Vonte Mullings went out.

Captain Noah Engell Christensen was disappointed with the defeat, but he emphasized that the top six is now a reality:

It’s A slightly strange and special feeling. Right now, I’m focusing on the fact that we’re in tup six, because the other results were bottled up.
But we have also just lost to a good Aarhus Fremad team. They probably deserve the victory , But we also have our chances here and there. But we are not at all as sharp as Aarhus Fremad. They know their visiting hours ,aver two goals and take control of the match.

I think We have a really good start to the 2nd half. We get to press them and get a period where we feel we can score and we do. Then we make some passive defensive play, and they score to 3-1 . It kills the game a bit, but I still thought we were trying to get back. We are really trying to win the game. We train with high intensity and also want to play with high intensity, so just because we fall behind, we don’t have to change anything, but still fight on with great intensity.

Unfortunately, we didn’t score today, but I think we bring a lot of quality into the top six. We will take one game at a time and win it and then see where it can take us in the table. We can start with the next game, where Aarhus Fremad comes to Gladsaxe Stadium, then we can take revenge for the defeat today “, concludes Noah Engell Christensen.

Head coach Joey Gudjonsson and most of the squad hung their heads after the game:

“It’s mixed feelings we have now, because we’ve doneenough with A lot of real and good progress since we started in January. Our goal has always been to get in the top half. We have made progress in a short space of time and I think we deserve to be in the top half. We can’t win every game, and today we met a really good opponent in Aarhus Fremad, who are at the top of the league.

We have to play at our top level, and we didn’t succeed in the 1st half. We were a bit passive and held back. The reaction after they had scored to make it 1-0 was like “Oh shit, we’re losing this game”. I couldn’t feel that the players believed that we could win. It was a bit disappointing to experience, because we know that we can play really well and we know that we can defend and also score goals.
It was a very young team today against a more experienced team, soit was a bit disappointing after the 1st half.

There was more focus in the 2nd half. We took some chances to see if we could get back into the game. We had chances in the 2nd half, and we could maybe have scored more goals. But if you don’t believe it, then the chance of it happening is smaller.

Now we have to gather ourselves, because we will meet them again in a week. It is a good opportunity for us to show ourselves at Gladsaxe Stadium – show our quality and our fight as a team”, concludes Joey Gudjonsson.

There are now ten games ahead in the promotion playoffs, and the first is against Aarhus Fremad at Gladsaxe Stadium. Details about match times and dates for the rest of the matches in the season will be published early next week.
