Tobias Hageltorn becomes a professional

18-year-old Tobias Hageltorn has signed his first professional contract with AB after a successful entry into the club’s first team.

A big pat on the back

There is also great satisfaction to be found in the AB player:

“It’s a big pat on the back for doing well. That you are recognized with a contract here is super cool. Now I hope I can keep working hard, help the team and contribute to victories,” says Hageltorn.

The pat on the back is well deserved, according to head coach, Joey Gudjonsson, who is also looking forward to continuing to work with the young striker:

“I am very pleased that Tobias has chosen to sign his first professional contract with us. He has really worked hard from the first day with the 1. Senior, and it resulted in a great end to the autumn, where you can really see how much it means to him to put on the AB shirt. I am very much looking forward to continuing to work with Tobias in the future.”

Sports director, Jen Chang, agrees with her head coach and is also happy with what he has seen from the now former U19 player:

“We have followed Tobias closely over the past year, especially in the pre-season where he trained with us. Since then, he has continued to make great strides in his game, and we are thrilled to be able to sign him. We have a strong partnership with the academy and always try to sign AB talents who are ready to take the next step into the first team.”

From academy to first team

After playing for the U19 team, Tobias Hageltorn has been training with the first team since the start of the season and can now call himself a professional footballer. The contract is the result of a close partnership between the academy and elite teams. Academy manager Simon Andresen is naturally proud of Hageltorn’s development.

“As an academy and talent developers, one of the biggest things you can achieve is to see your players succeed in the first team of your own club. We are therefore happy and proud on behalf of both Tobias and the Academy. Tobias has taken some really big steps in his development over the past year, and he has thus deservedly now become the next in line of players who continue the tradition in this proud club of breaking through from the academy. We congratulate everyone involved in the development of Tobias’ talent on his first professional contract.”

About the experience at AB’s academy, Tobias Hageltorn himself says:

“It’s a good academy we have, with some really good players and great talents. People who work hard. So that’s why I think it’s been really cool to be there. It has been great to be part of the first team squad. At first, I could feel that it had stepped up from what I was used to. Now it went just a little faster.”

However, Hageltorn, nicknamed ‘Spacey’, has come after the faster pace in the first team, where he has contributed with two goals in two league games in the 2nd Division. And the goals have not gone unnoticed by the fans, who have made a big impression on the young striker: “They really deserve thanks for the support they have shown on my debut. I hope I’ve given them a signal that I’m here to give 120% and give everything I have for the logo, for them, for the club and for the team,” says a proud and hungry Tobias Hageltorn.

Next chance to experience Tobias and the rest of the squad in the 2nd Division is Saturday 8 March 2025 at home against BK Frem.
