Akademisk Boldklub A/S has agreed with Esbjerg fB on a permanent deal for striker Tim Freriks for an unknown transfer fee as well as a future resale clause.
The 26-year-old Freriks, joined AB in July 2023 from Katwijk and scored 15 goals in 30 appearances for the club.
“Tim adapted very quickly to Danish football and had a productive first season with us,” says sporting director Jen Chang.
“We offered to extend his contract, but he requested a transfer at the end of the season. If a player wants to leave us and certain conditions are met – that the buying team makes an acceptable offer and that we are able to find a suitable replacement – then we will not stand in their way. In this case, we had interest from different teams, and Tim was eager to move to Esbjerg. We wish him the best of luck at his new club.”
Centre-back Ibrahim Doumbia will also leave the club this summer following a mutual resignation agreement. Midfielder Julius Lind and goalkeeper Filip Mellbin’s contracts also expire in June, and will not return after the summer break.
