Then it’s time for the 3rd round of the Oddset Cup on Tuesday 26 September, when AB Gladsaxe goes to Frederiksberg, where FA 2000 awaits on the artificial turf.
The referee of the match, Sebastian Friis Aagerup, blows the whistle for the match at 19.30 in Frederiksberg Idrætspark.
If this summer’s training match is counted, it is already the third time the two teams have crossed swords.
The last match between the two teams in Frederiksberg Sports Park at the end of August was a dramatic one. Hørður Askham equalized to 2-2 for AB five minutes into the referee’s overtime.
FA 2000 won their last cup match with 5-0 against Taastrup FC. AB won away with 4-3 against SfB-Oure FA in Svendborg after extra time.
It will be exciting to see what approach the two coaches take to the match. If players will be spared, the strongest line-up will be – we’ll see.
The 3rd round of the cup tournament has been the last three cup tournaments for AB. Each time AB is knocked out by a higher ranked team.
AB’s many fans and followers hope that this year’s cup tournament gives access to the 4th round of the Oddset Cup.
Head coach David Roufpanah says the day before the cup match: “There is a short time between games at the moment, so it is natural that there will be some rotation between the players in the team. We have to play our best to move forward. We would like to move on to the 4th round. We know the prerequisites, because we have played against them twice before – but there are no easy matches. I hope we can come with good energy after the very tough game against Middelfart, where we didn’t get points. It’s about coming back after that game – not just physically, but also emotionally and mentally. We expect FA 2000 to field their strongest team, because of course they also want to advance to the 4th round of the cup. We will do everything to get a good result, because we are really hungry now.”
