The trip goes again to Thisted
Early Saturday morning, the AB Gladsaxe players sit in the player bus to drive to Thisted, the longest away trip of the season. At 14:00 Thisted FC will take on AB at Sparekassen Thy Arena. In their last home game on October 2, Thisted FC sent our neighboring club HIK home with a 3-0 defeat. Last weekend Thisted FC won 3-1 away against Brabrand. So AB is in for a difficult match on a difficult away ground. The past week has not exactly been Aarhus party week. First, AB drew 2-2 at home against Aarhus Fremad on Sunday in a match that will be remembered far into the future. AB led 2-0 until the 88th minute, when Aarhus Fremad reduced the lead to 1-2 on penalty kicks. In the 11th minute of injury time, Aarhus Fremad equalized to 2-2. The dramatic match has triggered suspensions for Alessio Alicino and Lucas Koch, who will not play in Thisted. In Wednesday’s cup match against AGF, AB lost 3-0 after a fine match in a beautiful setting at Gladsaxe Stadium. The match in Thisted will be refereed by Allan Staal together with linesmen Morten Bech Jepsen and Niels Leth-Sørensen. Head coach Patrick Birch Braune says: “We are going to Thisted. Thisted FC is a team in form and has won their last game. We’ve had a really tough week, where we’ve had pretty much all of Aarhus visiting us. Now we’re going to Thisted, and it’s a really important game for us. We have a couple of suspensions from the last game, so we’ll have to adjust that. We’ve learned a lot from these two Aarhus matches. Now we have a long trip to Thisted. Last time we visited Thisted, things went really well and we had a really good grip on them. We doubt we’ll do the same again and we expect a very close game. If we are sharp and cynical and play with maturity, we believe we can bring home points. But we’re always humble when we go to Thisted”.
