Tomorrow, Maundy Thursday, April 6, 2023, AB Gladsaxe will travel to Jutland to play against Skive IK. The match referee, Stefan Fyhn, will blow the whistle at 13:00 at Hancock Arena. If you’re not near Skive, you can stream the match at www.2-division.dk/streaming.
Skive IK have had a poor start to the spring season, losing their first four games, most recently 2-0 against FREM in Valby. However, they finished the fall season well with a 2-1 home win over Esbjerg fB. Skive IK need points against AB to chase the top six and to avoid relegation play. Therefore, AB must be ready to face a highly motivated and struggling Skive IK team. AB must also earn as many points as possible to get the best possible starting point for the promotion playoffs.
The two clubs’ first meeting of the season ended in a 5-2 win for AB. But it shouldn’t be a sleeping pillow for the team. Emil Wass and Frederik Ellegaard scored two goals each and Mican Atici scored one goal.
Head Coach Patrick Birch Braune says: “We’re a little disappointed with the draw against Kolding, but we have to recover from it. We think we did a lot of things right, but there are also some gaps we need to close. Now we face Skive, a young team with a very high level of excellence, but who are also struggling. It’s often difficult with a young team to maintain continuity. The best way we can be is to be stable in our efforts, and that’s what we must try to succeed with.”
The coaching team can choose the starting lineup from this gross squad:
