The start-up is underway

Preparations for the coming season are in full swing. With a new coaching staff and several new players, there is currently a great focus on the development of the team.

Optimized framework

Although parts of the team showed up for training on July 3, the remaining players showed up on Monday for a completely new training setup and an upgraded locker room at Skovdiget. In June, work was done at full speed to install new bathing facilities, new lockers for players and more strength & conditioning equipment. In addition, the first day of training also meant a happy introduction of new training clothes and equipment from our new partners, Select Sport, which will adorn the team’s uniforms for both training and matches in the future.

On the training ground, the team has received brand new training equipment, a new data tracking system and an individual physical training program for each player. At the same time, both morning and afternoon training sessions have also been introduced several times a week.

“Our second week of training is almost over, and we are currently working hard to implement our new training and playing style. We have focused on increasing the intensity and building our relationships with each other on the pitch. We are well aware that it is a long process and that this requires patience,” says head coach David Roufpanah.

With these improvements, the team is given better conditions to become an even more competitive team in the 2nd division.

“Our main focus right now is to build a style of play that can get us back to where AB belongs. We have an interesting mix of young AB players and more experienced players from a higher level, which creates a good foundation for the future AB generation,” Roufpanah elaborates.

Synergy between the academy and the first team

“We have already established a very good relationship with the academy staff in the first two weeks, and this will help create a clearer path for young players to reach the first team in the future. The squad has already gotten along well with each other, and I’m looking forward to them putting on the green/white striped jersey and meeting the fans. I’m very impressed with the support and passion from our fans, it’s quite unique at this level and it just makes us want to work even harder.”

“I hope that we can soon celebrate some victories together. Right now we have a couple of training matches to prepare for the season, where our focus is on implementing our style of play, and therefore the result is secondary right now. But on August 5, we will ensure that we are prepared,” he concludes.

The team will play the first training match on Saturday 15 July at 12:00 against Hillerød at Skovdiget in Bagsværd.
