AB will play the second quarter-final on Saturday 9 December 2023 at 15:30 at Right to Dream Park in Farum against the Superliga team FC Nordsjælland. Regardless of the result, AB is guaranteed to be able to go on a well-deserved winter break after the match.
The first quarter-final went really well and AB played an OK match. Unfortunately, FCN was better and scored three goals in the 2nd half.
AB must now go on the field and play a reasonable game and preferably win in the last game of the autumn. FCN played fast last time and are used to the artificial turf, but I wonder if AB can give them good resistance again.
AB Forever and other fans of AB showed up in large numbers in the last match. It was an impressively good attendance and what a support they gave to the team throughout the match. Everyone is hoping for a repeat so that the team, coaches and staff around can be sent well on winter break.
Head coach David Roufpanah said: “Of course, it will be difficult to get a result that gives the overall victory. We have to go in and make the same effort as we did in the first half in the last game. We have to be disciplined and try to create chances. We must not panic and open up. We saw how Fenerbahce fared. We have to be disciplined and wait for our chances. If we get a goal early in the game, then we can build on from there. It’s football, so anything is possible. But it will be hard.
It is a huge opportunity to develop our team. We have gained valuable video material that we can continue to work with. It provides good experience for our team, especially the younger players, who do not have much experience. So it’s really good.”
