On Saturday 30 September 2023 at 15:00, Thisted FC will take the long trip to Gladsaxe Stadium, where AB awaits. Thisted FC occupies 9th place in the 2nd division. AB is in 6th place – but only one point separates the two teams.So the chase for three points is in favour of both teams in their efforts to keep a lead in the Top-6. It can only be an exciting match.
The last time the two teams met was in last season’s promotion play-offs, where AB lost 1-2 in May at “Lerpytter”.
Head coach David Roufpanah says after Friday’s training: “We have to face Thisted tomorrow. We will try to ride on the energy we had in the cup match. We had a really good end to the cup match. If we can take that energy from the game and build on it, then we will play a good game. The match against Middelfart was a big disappointment. We were too passive in that game. We must take the initiative in the matches and not give the initiative to the opponents. I think Thisted is a team that plays to their strengths. They know what they are good at and what they are not so good at. A very intelligent team in that way. But we have studied them and have prepared well for the match.”
Rasmus Brodersen follows up with these words: “It will just be so cool to be back at home. There is an incredibly good atmosphere in the squad after the cup victory on Wednesday. It gives lots of zest and energy to the team after such a comeback. It’s clear that when we find our intensity and patterns in the game, we also win the games. I think our play on the ball will be better than last week’s game against Middelfart and that we create more chances. I think we can hit Thisted and get three points at home.
