The hunt for points begins
Tomorrow, Sunday, March 12, 2023, AB Gladsaxe will finally be on the hunt for important points as the 2nd division season starts again. The hunt starts in Aarhus. Aarhus Fremad takes on AB at 15.00 at Fredensvang (AGF’s facility) Terp Skovvej 16 Viby J. Aarhus Fremad has already played two important matches. They lost 3-0 at home (in Silkeborg) on February 28 against Superliga leaders FC Nordsjælland in the cup. On Sunday, March 5, Aarhus Fremad won 2-0 against Esbjerg fB at the very difficult away ground “Blue Water Arena”. A result that put Aarhus Fremad in first place in the 2nd division, so AB faces a very difficult match in Aarhus. AB drew in Gentofte last Saturday in the pre-season rehearsal 1-1 against HIK, where HIK equalized in injury time. Aarhus Fremad did the same in the two clubs’ first meeting at Gladsaxe Stadium on Sunday, October 9. The match ended 2-2. It was the most dramatic and longest match (perhaps) ever seen at Gladsaxe Stadium. Aarhus Fremad equalized in the 10th minute of overtime. The referee initially added five minutes of overtime to the match, which some may have thought was a bit too much. In those five minutes, the referee found another five minutes – and Aarhus Fremad managed to equalize. AB’s two goals were scored by Emil Wass and Albert Nørager. AB is in 3rd place before the match, so a real top showdown awaits. Head coach Patrich Birch Braune says: “The spring premiere is just around the corner and we’re looking forward to getting started after a long break. We’re facing the number one team in the league. They’ve got off to a flying start with a great win over Esbjerg. So there’s no doubt that a big task awaits us away from home in Aarhus. That said, we had an excellent end to the fall and we need to see if we can find that level again. There’s no doubt that to get points against the top team in the league away from home, you need a serious and strong effort. That’s what we want and are looking forward to showing.” In the bus that leaves Gladsaxe Stadium at 9.40 is the gross squad: 2 Rasmus Møller 3 Gustav Overgaard Hansen 5 Adrien Koudelka 6 Daniel Warmbach 7 Frederik Ellegaard 8 Emil Wass 11 Oliver Angus 15 Søren Ilsøe 16 Albert Gaub-Jakobsen (goal) 17 Christoffer Thrane 19 Albert Nørager 21 Alessio Alicino 22 Silas Trier Madsen 23 Marcelo Randolf 25 Tobias Brogaard (goal) 28 Emiliano Gomez 30 Marcus Mustac Gudmann 37 Asger Højmark-Jensen The starting line-up will be announced on Facebook and Instagram one hour before kick-off.The match will be streamed at https://2-division.dk/streaming Photo: AB Forever
