B Gladsaxe are pleased to announce the appointment of David Roufpanah as the club’s new head coach. Roufpanah has signed a three-year contract with the club.
Roufpanah’s coaching career includes significant contributions to renowned Scandinavian football academies such as Malmö FF and Hammarby. The Swedish coach has previously coached at various levels in Sweden, for example as head coach of FC Rosengård, assistant coach of Superettan teams IFK Värnamo, Dalkurd FF, and Ängelholms FF. He has also been head coach of the women’s team at IFK Kalmar. However, his journey began already at his local childhood club Lindeborgs FF in the southern part of Malmö.
Known for his offensive approach to football, Roufpanah has an impressive track record in player development. He holds a UEFA PRO license and has worked with talented players at youth level who have achieved success in top leagues in the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, England and Sweden, as well as in international tournaments such as the Champions League.
An excited Roufpanah says: “I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with AB and the team’s players, and help the club reach new heights. AB has great potential, and I look forward to starting this journey together with everyone at the club. The board’s strategic vision and ambitions appealed to me, making it a natural fit.”
Regarding the appointment, AB’s CEO, Erik Stover, says: “We had great interest from many qualified candidates, but David stood out from the crowd. He has the relevant experience to work with both young players and established veterans. He also impressed us with his tactical insight and his specific plan for our club.”
Stover continues: “In our conversations, it became clear that David and AB share common goals and values in relation to the rebuilding of our club. With our history, we have high expectations that we must live up to, and we are confident that David will play an integral role in our vision for the club.”
David will step into the role of head coach in the upcoming season. Everyone at AB would like to warmly welcome David to Gladsaxe.
