Solid effort and victory again
AB Gladsaxe played their 14th game in the 2nd division earlier today and won for the fourth consecutive game. Silas Trier Madsen, Adnan Curovic and Lucas Koch were out with injuries, and Christoffer Thrane and Mican Atici were out with suspensions. Simon Holden had taken Silas Trier Madsen’s place in the starting line-up and also the captain’s armband. It’s a difficult away ground to play on, and when it’s a rainy pitch, it makes for difficult conditions. AB wins 3-0 over Brabrand on a solid, sensible and patient effort. AB was in control from the start and all 3 goals were scored in the 1st half. According to Tobias Brogaard, there were no saves. Trailing 0-3 from the start of the 2nd half, Brabrand had to create the game. This gave Brabrand more play, but it didn’t lead to goals or great chances. Tobias Brogaard had to pull out a class save when Brabrand came a little too close on one occasion. The 1-0 goal was scored by Emil Mygind, who stood close to the goal and put his last foot on the ball. The 2-0 goal was scored by Marcus Mustac Gudmann, who sent in a good shot. The 3-0 goal was scored by Albert Nørager and it was a class goal – perhaps the best goal seen at Brabrand Stadium this year. It was the debut of Frederik Lindgaard, who made a fine contribution. The players voted Albert Nørager as player of the match. Head coach Patrick Birch Braune: “Nice win over here. We’ve been hit hard leading up to the match. We’re going over here with four U19 players – a first year U19 player who will make his debut. Congratulations to Frederik Lindgaard. There were lots of duels and enormous cynicism, and that’s what makes us win today with such a young team. It’s a huge achievement, so kudos to the boys. There’s a culture of working so hard that it’s hard not to be satisfied.” Today’s captain Simon Holden: “We played a game that, for the spectators, wasn’t particularly pretty. The intensity and duels were there on a really difficult pitch. We knew what we were up against, so we were ready for it and had it in our mindset. We’ve had some tough games over here in the past where we haven’t been able to withstand their pressure. They put mental and physical pressure and play with long balls. It’s really mature and strong that we just show up and deliver such a mature game of football. We stood up to them and scored some good goals – we really scored some great goals today. So I’m very pleased and proud of the boys.” Starting line-up with substitutions: 25 Tobias Brogaard (m) 3 Gustav Overgaard Hansen 4 Anton Basbas Pedersen 7 Frederik Ellegaard out – Marcus Hørbye in 8 Emil Wass 9 Emil Mygind out – Mads Vang in 11 Oliver Angus out – Frederik Lindgaard in 18 Simon Holden out – Christian Espersen Troelsen in 19 Albert Nørager 21 Alessio Alicino out – James Iheme in 30 Marcus Mustac Gudmann Next match is Sunday, November 13 at 1 pm at Gladsaxe Stadium against FC Roskilde.
