Oliver Angus extends contract
Oliver Angus is the latest member of the AB squad to sign a new contract. It’s with the club where he played football as a boy. The flurry of contract extensions at AB continues. Winger Oliver Angus now extends his contract with the club after his very successful first six months as part of AB as a senior player. This completes a full circle for Angus, who now extends his contract with the club where he also played as a boy. “I’m really happy about it. Enormously happy. When I was a kid, it was a club that I wanted to help get back to where it belongs,” says Oliver Angus and continues. “One of the reasons why it’s so great for me to extend my contract is that many of the players are people who have also been at the club for many years. It’s the same with the coaching team. Everything around the team is created by people who want the best for the club. We as players also perform for ourselves, but most of all we play for the club.” As a boy player, he joined AB at the age of 9 from Bagsværd Boldklub and continued here until he became part of FC Nordsjælland’s talent academy as a youth player. Here Angus developed so well that he became part of FC Nordsjælland’s U-19 team alongside AB players Marcus Gudmann and Anton Pedersen. Angus made 10 senior appearances in FC Nordsjælland’s reserve team for the Superliga team before moving to HIK in 2019. This summer he returned to AB and since then the coaching staff have been extremely happy with him. “He has taken his position by storm and Oliver works really well in the way we want to press. He makes a lot of decisive passes as a technically strong offensive back,” says Head Coach Patrick Braune. With a past in clubs like FC Nordsjælland and HIK, Oliver Angus fits well with AB’s style of play as a player who wants to create the game with possession football with pace. Angus looks forward to developing this with his new AB contract in hand. “The style of play suits me perfectly. AB and FC Nordsjælland want much the same with the style of play by having the ball a lot. I’ve settled into the game very quickly,” explains Oliver Angus.
