Off to pick up 3 points!

Tomorrow, Friday 25 August 2023, AB Gladsaxe will make the trip to Frederiksberg, where FA 2000 will receive. The referee, Frederik Svendsen, blows the whistle for the match at 19.00 at Frederiksberg Idrætspark, Sønderjyllandsvej 4.

After just one season in the 3rd division, FA 2000, after promotion in June, is back in the 2nd division. AB and FA 2000 have faced each other several times in recent years, and it is usually very close and exciting matches that the two teams play. Latest the two teams

met, was in a training match in early August at Skovdiget. Here, AB won 6-3. But one thing is friendly matches, another thing is games with points at stake. FA 2000 comes to the match with a win over Brabrand in the bag after a 1-0 win last Saturday at the difficult away ground in Aarhus. FA 2000 occupies 8th place in the table. AB moved up to 5th place in the table after the victory over HIK last Friday at Gladsaxe Stadium. AB is thus still unbeaten in the season. Neither team has players in quarantine.

Head coach David Roufpanah says the day before the game: “Then we have to play a game again, and that’s great. This means that we have the opportunity to pick up 3 points again. It will be a tough away game. FA 2000 are new to the 2nd division and work hard together. It will be a difficult away game on a challenging artificial turf pitch. We have to adapt to the conditions and play aggressively on the ball and show that we can handle this situation. I also hope that we can get the feeling of playing at home. We play in front of our fans in a stadium in the Copenhagen area, so we hope that together we can create a home atmosphere. We will play with lots of energy. We are still in a process where we have to get to know each other and become clear about how we play and how the individual plays. There will therefore be good matches, but also matches that are less good. Last week we didn’t play so well, but we got 3 points – and that was really good.

Midfield dynamo Emil Wass says the following about the match: “We have to build on the fact that we have now got the first 3 points. Of course, we want to pick up 3 more points and put a streak together. Frederiksberg Sports Park is a difficult place to play. It’s on an art pitch, and it’s an older art pitch. So there will be a period of adaptation at the start of the match, I think. Once we get used to it, our playing will probably be expressed. We have to try to score the first goal so we can get momentum and get them to open up so that we don’t have to chase them.”

The coaching staff has the following gross squad for the match:

1 Indy Groothuizen

3 Erik Lindell

4 Adrien Koudelka

5 Rasmus Brodersen

6 Daniel A. Pedersen

10 Layton Ndukwu
