When AB Gladsaxe welcomes Middelfart tomorrow, Saturday 6 April 2024 at 14:00 at Gladsaxe Stadium, it will be the most important match of the season so far: The battle for the important Top-6 position.

AB occupies 6th place with 24 points, in 7th place with 23 points is Skive and Fremad Amager occupies 8th place with 22 points.
Skive meets Esbjerg away and Fremad Amager meets Thisted away.
All matches are played at 14.00.
So on paper, AB just has to win the home game against Middelfart.

But, but the promoted team from Middelfart is in an impressive 4th place with 38 points, so it is a skilled opponent AB must go up against. Middelfart has most recently defeated Fremad Amager with 3-1 in Sundby Idrætspark and won 3-0 against Thisted FC at home.
First game of the season 23 September between the two teams in Middelfart ended with a 1-0 victory for Middelfart.
It probably hasn’t gone unnoticed that AB lost 1-0 in Sundby Idrætspark against Fremad Amager. It happened after a Fremad Amager goal in 5 min. of overtime directly on a free kick.
Tim Freriks is serving his first day of quarantine of the two, which he received for the direct red card in the Fremad Amager match. On the other hand, Darren Sidoel is back, after having endured his quarantine day. Middelfart has no one in quarantine.

Head coach David Roufpanah says:
It will be an exciting match tomorrow. Like a final. Because if we win the match, we will be in the Top-6. It’s good that the game is at home. Middelfart comes from an incredibly strong period, has scored many goals and is really solid, not least defensively. They come with a lot of confidence.

After all, these are the matches that are fun and the ones you look forward to. It will be a different game against Middelfart than the one on Monday against Fremad Amager. They are two very different teams. We’ve looked at some of the mistakes we made in that game and have worked on them.

We didn’t make any catastrophic mistakes in the game, but the emotions after losing the game in 5 minutes of injury time were really hard. But now we have put that game behind us and look forward to the game tomorrow.

Daniel A. Pedersen says after Friday’s training:
“It’s just for us an incredibly important game against Middelfart. For us, it is incredibly important to get in the Top-6. It’s great that we have to face them at home with our fans behind us. The only thing that counts tomorrow is a win and a place in the Top-6. I think it will be a close game. Middelfart is running well at the moment. We know that it will be a difficult battle against a good fitter. We must focus on how we can make it difficult for them and how we can make ourselves good. We were nowhere near the level we want to reach in the match against Fremad Amager. So there is also something for us to revenge. The best way to do that is to go on the pitch tomorrow and show that our level is higher than what we showed on Monday in Sundby.”

The following gross squad has been selected for the match:

16 Albert Gaub-Jacobsen (goalkeeper)
3, Erik Lindell
