Now it’s finally AB time: Spring premiere against BK Frem

After a long training period that started on 7 January, points are now again at stake when BK Frem visits Gladsaxe Stadium tomorrow, Saturday 8 March 2025.

The first match of the spring season will be whistled at 14.00 by referee Nicki Nordlund Hansen and what a brave to start with when the two traditional clubs clash.

AB Gladsaxe has had a really good start with many good training sessions, where the weather has largely behaved. Seven friendly matches have been played, including against two NordicBet Liga teams and Brøndby IF’s reserve team. The games have yielded one draw and six wins, and that is a good boost and gives great optimism before the decisive matches start in the battle for the top 6.

But one thing is friendly matches – something else is of course games where three points are at stake. So everyone is crossing their fingers that the great training results will also apply in the coming matches.

On Saturday, August 31, 2024, AB and BK Frem played the first match of the season in Valby. It was a very close and even game, but AB won 1-0 on a goal by O’Vonte Mullings.

Close and even, the two teams are also in the table. AB is in 7th place with 21 points. BK Frem in 9th place with 20 points – so it can hardly be more exciting and close.

The squad has trained hard during the winter break, and head coach Joey Gudjonsson is happy that the spring sun has come, because now is the time to reap the rewards of the hard work in snow, wind and cold.

“The spring season starts tomorrow and we are really keen to get started again. It will be nice weather tomorrow and hopefully there will be many who will support us. I truly believe that our fans are behind us and will help us lead the team in the right direction.”

“We have all worked hard towards the first game against BK Frem. We need to have a strong start to the second half of the season and we need all the support we can get from the stands. We have to perform every game now so that we can finish in a good position and be part of the best for the playoffs.”

“Our training gives everyone the opportunity to compete and improve. The players give 100% and we train with high intensity. At the same time, we want to maintain a positive approach to everything we do. We don’t look for mistakes without helping further. We encourage the players to do the right things and use the energy right.”

“We have also used the training matches to strengthen relationships and unity, and I think we have succeeded. We have played well and we will take that with us. I’m so happy with what we’ve accomplished during the winter break. Tomorrow there are again 3 points to play for – and I can see that the players are completely ready”, concludes Joey Gudjonsson.

Rasmus Brodersen is also looking forward to the match and looking forward to seeing how far the team has come.

“We are ready and we are first and foremost looking forward to getting on the field and playing for points again. We have had a really good start, where we have refined our game after our good end to the autumn. That is the good feeling we must build on.”

“We have been very good in our training matches and scored many goals. In the beginning, we have had a lot of focus on our breakthrough game, which has become much better and which has resulted in goals. There has also been a focus on our defensive structure.
So right now there is a lot of joy and courage in the team, which hopefully explodes tomorrow. We take one game at a time and we keep our feet on the ground. We know that we have to go in and fight and we have to show that tomorrow as well. It will be great to play in front of the fans again. We have missed that and after the long break, they also deserve a win. It will be exciting to come out and measure ourselves against a good opponent and see how far we have come”, concludes Rasmus Broderen.
