Not a feast for the eyes!
AB Gladsaxe played earlier today at Kolding Stadium against Kolding IF, who won 1-0. Compared to the starting lineup last week, Adnan Corovic started and Oliver Angus took his place on the bench. Congratulations to James Iheme who made his debut after 80 minutes. It was never a game that was a feast for the eyes. Kolding started as expected with physical play and long passes. After 10 min. After 10 minutes, Kolding’s Patrick Tjørnelund got on the end of a cross and headed the ball into the goal for a 1-0 lead. The referee interrupted the match after 23 min. due to lightning and thunder, which caused an involuntary pause in the game. The referee restarted the match after 27 min. with a throw-in for AB. Shortly after, AB was awarded a free kick just outside the box, which Marcus Gudmann shot just past the post. AB came out better in the second half and had the ball more and put good pressure on Kolding. AB still struggled to create chances. There was not a single corner kick, and thus no opportunity to unfold the dangerous corner kick combinations. Kolding were far back on the pitch and were only dangerous on conversions. On the other hand, Kolding were very good at stalling, which the referee was very aware of. Tobias Brogaard had a good game and had several crucial saves. With 5 min. Frederik Ellegaard had a great chance in the box, but out of balance the finish went over the goal. AB put a difficult away match behind them and can now look forward to the next match. Head coach Patrick Birch Braune said after the match: “A tough defeat here in Kolding. It’s a difficult opponent. It’s a completely different kind of football than the way we’re used to approaching the game. It caused us a lot of problems today. It was very erratic and we couldn’t get the game to flow. We have to go all the way to the 55th min. before we get the game down on the grass. We got the game set and it became more structured. With the storm, we never got any rhythm in the game. We had a great chance that we could have equalized. But we need to be sharper earlier in the game to get the game on our terms. It was just too unrhythmic today because of the weather and generally a lot of stoppages. So it was a Kolding match with lots of physicality and duels – unfortunately.” Starting line-up with substitutions: 3 Gustav Overgård Hansen 4 Anton Basbas Pedersen 5 Adnan Curovic out – 11 Oliver Angus in 7 Frederik Ellegaard 8 Emil Wass out – 9 Emil Mygind in 17 Christoffer Thrane out – 23 Mican Atici in 19 Albert Nørager 21 Alessio Alicino out – 14 James Iheme in 22 Silas Trier Madsen 25 Tobias Brogaard (goal) 30 Marcus Mustac Gudmann Next match will be played on Sunday 25/9 at 13:00 at Gladsaxe Stadion against B 93.
