Noah Engell moves to AB

Akademisk Boldklub A/S has agreed with Hellerup Idræts Klub (HIK) on a move of the 21-year-old striker, Noah Engell Christensen, who returns to AB – this time as a professional.

A talented profile

The young and goal-scoring striker has impressed greatly in his short time at HIK, since he joined from Frederikssund IK a year ago. This autumn season, he is the club’s top scorer with 8 goals and 3 assists in 16 games in the 2nd division, and is in joint 3rd place. In total, he is listed for 10 goals and 7 assists at the club.

“Noah has proven that he can score goals, and that’s exactly what we’ve been looking for in this window. With the addition, we create depth, great competition and flexibility in the offensive positions, which is fantastic as a coach. Noah will fit in really well in our dressing room, and I look forward to seeing him make a positive impression, already in the start”, says AB’s head coach Joey Gudjonsson about his new striker.

The head coach was of great importance to Noah Engell:

“I had a good dialogue with him about the future, and he seemed very nice. It means a lot to me, if I have to make a change, that I feel it’s the right thing.”

The addition and the new offensive opportunities are also pleasing to AB’s sports director, Jen Chang:

“We believe Noah adds a dynamic component to our offensive game. He is an exciting player with speed and flair who continues to improve, and we are thrilled to be able to bring him back to AB.”

Past in AB

Noah Engell played for a number of years at AB’s academy before he moved to Svenborg fBY in 2018 in connection with an after-school stay. Engell has subsequently also played for OB’s U-19 team.

The striker remembers his time in AB with great pleasure:

“I developed a lot in the years I played here. I chose to go to boarding school, but was extremely happy with my entire time in AB”.

Noah Engell is also looking forward to becoming part of AB’s professional setup:

“The whole setup was extremely attractive and gives me good opportunities to develop and take the next step. And then I know the club.”

Noah Engell Christensen has signed a 3.5-year contract with AB, which runs until June 2028. He will meet the rest of the squad when they return from Christmas break on January 7.

First opportunity to meet Noah Engell at Gladsaxe Stadium is Saturday 8 March 2025 at home against BK Frem.
