AB A/S has agreed with O’Vonte Mullings on a contract extension that runs until the summer of 2027.
Mullings has contributed four goals and one assist in 14 league games for AB this season, starting both as a winger and a striker. The attacking player has played a total of 30 games for the club and scored 5 goals since joining from the New York Red Bulls at the start of 2024.
The 24-year-old Canadian is optimistic about the future: “I am happy to be able to extend my stay here at AB, and I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity. The future is bright and I look forward to having many good memories with the club,” says Mullings.
Head coach Joey Gudjonsson is pleased to be able to develop the striker in the coming years:
“I am incredibly pleased that O’Vonte has chosen to extend all the way to 2027. He is a good example of how we want to move players. O’Vonte means a lot in our offensive game, where his speed and physicality give him some advantages that we hope will be even more evident in the future,” the Icelander announces.
Sports director Jen Chang is also pleased with the extension: “O’Vonte is a person with a strong character and an extremely good work ethic. He has shown great improvement in his game this season and is an important piece of our attack. We are very pleased that he is forging even stronger ties with the club.”
Mullings has previously played for the New York Red Bulls. He was drafted in the first round of the 2022 MLS SuperDraft by the American club after great performances at Florida Gulf Coast University. Mullings played 56 games for the New York Red Bulls II and made 3 appearances for the first team.
