It is the hour of decision when AB Gladsaxe meets Aarhus Fremad on Saturday at 14:00 at Riisvangen Stadium in Aarhus in the battle for the top 6.
AB occupies fifth place before the final round of the regular season, which will be played for all teams on Saturday. Aarhus Fremad is in first place going into the match.
With a win for AB, the team is in the promotion play-off to the 1st division. Loser AB, at the same time as If BK Frem and Skive win their matches, then AB will play in the relegation playoff, where ten games await, just like in the promotion playoff.
Aarhus Fremad would also very much like to win the match, so they can hold on to their first place in the 2nd division. It probably can’t get more exciting!
AB can win against Aarhus Fremad – At least the team did back in August, where AB in the first meeting of the two teams won with 3–2 at Gladsaxe Stadium. ABs Goal ScoreRe on that occasion were Marco Ramkilde, O’Vonte Mullings and Mikkel Brund.
AB and Aarhus Fremad always play some close and even matches. Who doesn’t remember 1 –1 match at Riisvangen Stadium in early October 2023, where AB’s goalkeeper Albert Gaub-Jacobsen took the lead role with two world-class saves on penalties within two minutes of the game’s end.
Both teams come into the match with victories in the bag from the previous round. Aarhus Fremad defeated HIK in Gentofte with 4 –0, not least on two great long-shot goals. AB also won safelyat home at Gladsaxe Stadion with 3-0 against Nykøbing FC.
Allan Staal must share sun and wind equally, when he takes care of the whistle in the match. He gets help on the lines by Tarik Kabiljagic and Aiden Esmaeli.
Albert Gaub-Jacobsen is looking forward to the game and there is no doubt that the team is going for the three points:
“It is a very important and very difficult match in Aarhus. It’s a good opponent who plays good football. I have no doubt that if we bring what we can bring, there are also three points waiting for us there.
The same thing is at stake every time, and it is the three points we are going for. Of course, there is also the fact that we can play our way in the promotion game, but the most important thing is that we just go out and play our game and focus on what we have to do.
There has been really good intensity in training, and we are looking forward to the match. We’re on a good streak, so it’s just a matter of building on what we’ve done so far and continuing to score a lot of goals.” Gaub-Jacobsen.
Head coach Joey Gudjonsson expects a game with great intensity and focus on his own game:
“The match against Aarhus Fremad is a big game, but all the games here after the winter break have beenimportant .
Inthe match against Aarhus Fremad we will not play different from what we’ve played so far. We will go to the game as we have done in the other games. Obviously, when we now play against one of the top teams, Then we have to be completely ready from the start. We are, and We have shown that we can beat any team in the division if we are there on the day.
We are going to Aarhus and we want to raise the intensity, focus on our own game and what we want to bring into the game.”, concludes Joey Gudjonsson.
