AB A/S has signed a pre-contract with Marc Dal Hende, who has agreed to a 3-year agreement from 1 July 2025.
A leader and a fighter
Head coach Joey Gudjonsson is looking forward to working with the 34-year-old defender:
“To be able to add players like Marc to our dressing room is another step in the right direction for us. We have a young squad, and Marc’s experience, fighting gene and mindset on the pitch will be important skills for us. We are very much looking forward to him joining AB.”
Dal Hende has spent the past five seasons at SønderjyskE, where he has played both left-back and centre-back. Throughout his illustrious career, he has made 172 Superliga appearances for FC Vestsjælland, SønderjyskE and FC Midtjylland. At the latter, he won two Danish championships and the cup tournament, where he contributed with a great 21 goals and 8 assists for the Wolves.
Sports director, Jen Chang, is just as pleased as her head coach:
“Marc is an important signing for us and he brings leadership qualities, a strong character and a lot of experience to our squad. He is a top professional, in excellent physical condition, and we are happy that he believes in our project and is determined to help us achieve our goals.”
Past and future in AB
The goal-scoring defender began his career at FC Copenhagen’s youth academy before passing Viborg and then AB. The defender played there from 2011 to 2013 and in that period reached 39 games in the 1st Division and scored 9 goals.
He therefore knows the club from the inside, and the transfer also fits well into the club’s overall strategy:
“This transfer is the latest in a series of additions that underline where we are heading as a club. Marc is an established leader who will help our talents grow on and off the pitch. He understands the club and personifies both AB’s past and future”, concludes Chairman of the Board of Directors of AB A/S, Brian J. Grieco.
