AB Gladsaxe played the last training match before the start of the season in March. It was a 3-1 victory in Rehearsal. and AB played a really good game from the first to the last whistle.
Brøndby IF fielded a strong team consisting of three players from the Superliga team, players from the transition team, U19 and U17.
In ABs The starting line-up was Marcus Bobjerg on goal. In central defence was Adrien Koudelka and Pachanga Kristensen. On the right side of the defence was Mikkel Nielsen, and on the left side was Rasmus Brodersen. The central midfield consisted of Søren Ilsøe (captain) and Agust Hlynsson. On the edges O’Vonte Mullings and Yushi Yamaya. At the top, Noah Engell Christensen and Tobias “Spacey” Hailtower.
The match started at a high pace between two teams who really wanted to move forward down the field. ABs Combinations flowed well with fast and direct play. In periods when Brøndby IF pressed and AB captured the ball, AB made quick transitions, and with precise passes, they quickly got to Brøndby’s goal.
When AB attacked on one of the sides, either O’Vonte Mullings or Yushi Yamaya pulled towards the middle on the opposite side, and somedangerous situations arose in front of Brøndby’s goal.
Head coach Joey Gudjonsson attributed the victory to the fact that the players had really performed as a team:
”We played really well and created a lot of chances. We probably should have scored more goals. After the last game, I wasn’t so happy because we didn’t play as a team. We certainly did today. Defensively we were really Well organized and we showed good form. We played against a team that wanted to play through us, but we made it difficult for them and we were really dangerous on the counter-attack.”
“It was the first game on grass, and the game today shows that we have good quality in the squad, and I am generally satisfied with the game today. The players have got a lot of minutes in their legs, and I think we have had a good preparation before the start of the season, so I am really happy about that.”
“Now we have almost two weeks to continue working on the things we think we can fine-tune and improve. We are all really looking forward to the first game, and I think it will be a big game against BK Frem at Gladsaxe Stadium in just under two weeks,” concludes Joey Gudjonsson.
