Last home game before the winter break

Tomorrow, Saturday 9 November, AB Gladsaxe will welcome 2nd division top team Fremad Amager for the last home game of the autumn.

Fremad Amager is number one in the table with 32 points. After last week’s 1-0 defeat in Næstved, AB is in 11th place at the bottom of the table with 15 points.

Fremad Amager also comes to the match with a defeat in the bag, after the team suffered one of their rare defeats at home in Sundby, where Ishøj won 1-0.

AB will have to get some points on the account, not least in the effort to get into the top-6 when the regular season ends on April 12, 2025. The match tomorrow against Fremad Amager is the penultimate before the winter break. It is also game number fifteen in a regular season with a total of 22 games.

The first match between the two teams in mid-September ended with a 3-0 victory for Fremad Amager in Sundby.
AB has Marcus Brobjerg in quarantine. Fremad Amager has Christoffer Boateng and Frederik Holst in quarantine.

AB’s head coach Joey Gudjonsson calls for killer instinct, but also says that the basis must be maintained.

“We must continue to work on the things that we have had in focus so far. We have created chances, we have defended well, the players are positive, the statistics in our game are good. Even though I’ve said it many times, we still have to keep working hard and being positive.

We haven’t been able to score and take leads in the games. The opportunities have been there, but we have not succeeded in the recent past. We have found some weaknesses in an otherwise very good Fremad Amager team, and we go into the game tomorrow to win. Now we really have to find our killer instinct – we need that to win games”, concludes Joey Gudjonsson.

AB’s goalkeeper Albert Gaub Jacobsen will see the nets fluttering in the opponents’ goal.

“We will face the top team Fremad Amager at home. They are number one in the league and have been playing well. Unfortunately, we are down at the other end of the table. I don’t think the performances on the pitch are reflected in the table. Many things have gone against us, but huge credit to the boys. We train hard every day and fight for the victories to come soon.

Of course, it is hard when we have now been through a long period without results. I do not think that the work effort has slowed down – it is still there every day. In the last game, Næstved scored a lucky goal, but we should have closed the game in the first half, because they didn’t have much. Now we need to get the nets flapping, then we are up there again,” concludes Albert Gaub-Jacobsen.

The coaching staff has the following players, where Tobias ‘Spacy’ Hageltorn has been selected for the first time in the 2. Division:
