Last game of the year Sunday, November 20 at 14:00
Tomorrow, Sunday, November 20, 2022, AB Gladsaxe will play the last game of the year in the 2nd division. Thisted FC will be welcomed to Gladsaxe Stadium, where referee Emil Martinussen will kick off the game at 14.00. After a difficult period, Thisted FC got back on track and won 3-0 at home last week at Sparekassen Thy Arena. In early November, Thisted FC and head coach Krzysztof Popczynski parted ways, and sports director Peter Bechmann is temporarily taking over as head coach. AB will try to maintain their winning streak and keep the momentum going in the last game before the winter break. AB is in third place in the table. Thisted FC are in 8th place and are fighting hard to get into the top six. Last Sunday, AB won at home in a highly dramatic match against FC Roskilde 3-2. Frederik Ellegaard scored the winning goal on a penalty against Christoffer Thrane in injury time. During the match, AB was trailing 2-1 in the second half, but showed fantastic morale and fought their way back. In the two teams’ first meeting in October, AB won 2-1 in Thisted. AB’s goals were scored by Emil Mygind and Marcus Gudmann. Thisted FC led at half-time 1-0. It’s going to be a cold day, so put on your top hat and mittens and come to the stadium and give the team great support in the last game of the year. Head coach Patrick Birch Braune: “We had a fantastic experience last weekend at home, where we got a penalty kick in injury time and secured a 3-3 victory. It was a great experience and we need to see if we can use some of the positive things that happened. There was a lot of mental strength in it and I think we’ll need that against Thisted. Thisted have changed coaches and they will probably come with a slightly different look. Since then, they’ve had some good games, including against FCK in the cup and a 3-0 win over Frem at home. So there’s a strong team coming, and we shouldn’t forget that they were in the fight for promotion, and not much has changed in the squad. It’s important for us to come with a good amount of respect, but at the same time we need to take the mental strength we’ve shown in the last few games into this match.” Neither team has any players suspended. 1 Oliver Børner Thorup (goal) 3 Gustav Overgaard Hansen 4 Anton Basbas Pedersen 7 Frederik Ellegaard 8 Emil Wass 9 Emil Mygind 11 Oliver Angus 14 James Iheme 17 Christoffer Thrane 18 Simon Holden 19 Albert Nørager 20 Marcus Hørbye 21 Alessio Alicino 23 Mican Atici 24 Frederik Lindegaard Lindgaard 25 Tobias Brogaard (goal) 26 Christian Espersen Troelsen 30 Marcus Mustac Gudmann Tickets can only be purchased at www.boldbillet.dk.
