Kolding got what they came for!

AB Gladsaxe played their last home game of the season earlier today. The opponent was Kolding IF, who came to Gladsaxe with great fighting spirit in an attempt to play their way up to the 1st division.

. The team was well set up by Kolding’s coach, former AB player Kristoffer Wichmann. Kolding IF managed to win 3-1, and promotion was secured amid great cheers from the visiting Kolding fans and players. AB’s only goal was scored by Oliver Angus. The match was watched by 815 spectators in the beautiful sunshine at Gladsaxe Stadion.

Before the referee blew the whistle to start the match, AB Forever presented the award as fan of the year to Emil Sørensen. He was chosen for, among other things, his great passion for AB’s team and participation in almost everything. He is a true AB fan. Big congratulations to Emil. AB Forever also presented the award as player of the year. It was not unexpected that Marcus Gudmann, who in a short time has shown his great value to the team and has won the hearts of many AB supporters, won. Marcus is always a guarantee of a great work effort – and he can also kick the ball into the goal on a free kick! Big congratulations to Gudmann.

Compared to the last match against B93, Indy Groothuizen started in goal and thus made his debut. Christian Espensen Troelsen took his place in central defense, and Marcus Gudmann had moved up to midfield, where Silas Trier Madsen was out due to suspension. Emiliano Gomez started instead

for Alessio Alicino, who took a seat on the bench. AB was pressured from the start to play with long balls and could not match the physically strong Kolding players.

However, it was AB who got the first big chance after 8 minutes when Albert Nørager sent a perfect cross into the box, where Marcus Gudmann came flying and put his head on it, but unfortunately it was too far. Then Kolding IF started to make their move. First a good shot, which the AB defense saved, a few minutes later a good free kick combination, where the final shot was blocked for a corner.

After 17 minutes, Kolding IF has a throw-in that Indy misjudges, so the ball goes over him to Paul Ngongo, who can score 1-0. A few minutes later, Indy tries to dribble around one of Kolding’s attackers, but loses the ball, after which Thomas Friis Mikkelsen puts Kolding ahead 2-0. After 30 minutes of playing time, on another long throw-in that is not cleared well enough, Jakob Kiilerich Rask can put Kolding ahead 3-0. Frederik Ellegaard worked hard as always, but it was not his day to celebrate as a goal scorer.

The reduction to 1-3 came from Oliver Angus, who from the edge searched towards the middle and sent a really good shot all the way down to the ground opposite Kolding’s goalkeeper.

AB actually played a pretty OK first half, but with 3 stupid goals against them it was uphill. AB came on the field with fresh courage and had most of the play in the second half with fast play and good combinations. However, it was not enough to create chances that could end in goal and catch up with Kolding’s lead.

The match could have developed differently if U19 captain Christian Espensen Troelsen had scored with a header from a corner kick a few minutes into the second half. Christian played a really good match.

The biggest applause of the day was directed at Daniel Warmbach, who came on the field in the second half for his last match. He received the captain’s armband from Albert Nørager, who was captain in the absence of Silas Trier Madsen. It was a sad farewell for Warmbach and for a large part of AB’s fans. Daniel has played for AB since he was 4 years old, so the many applauses were well deserved. Immediately after the match, it was a very emotional player who left the field for the last time.

th time in AB. Even though he had prepared, it makes a huge impression to have to leave the club after many years in the green jersey. Daniel thanked for the great support he has always received, and said that he will never forget it.

The match also gave the debut to U19 player Ilias Namli, and it gave more speed up the pitch. At the end of the match, Frederik Ellegaard finally gets through after a good pass from Marcus Gudmann, but it was ruled offside. The last home match of the season ends 1-3, and now only next weekend’s match against Aarhus Fremad remains. The match has no impact on the rankings, and AB Gladsaxe ends in 5th place in the promotion play-offs.

After the match, head coach Simon Ervolder Andresen said: “It was a disappointing end to the season at Gladsaxe Stadium. It’s hard to win football matches, now.”

If you concede the goals that we concede today – we have to admit that. I think that

The players are getting back up nicely after a very bad start. When we are 3-0 down against Kolding, where we concede goals on long throw-ins and personal mistakes, we have problems. We get up and show some morale and play for the honour in the second half. But it wasn’t good enough at all today, and we are sorry for that. We are going to Aarhus next weekend and end the season really well”. The match’s captain Albert Nørager said: “We are all disappointed with the performance we delivered in the last match of the season at Gladsaxe Stadium. We really wanted to end with a bang of a match. But with the mistakes we make and the fact that we don’t start at all, we are just giving ourselves a really bad starting point. We are getting back into the match okay, but it is still not good enough at all today. We are of course sorry and incredibly disappointed about that. After the last match at home, we have to look forward to next season and give the audience some great experiences at Gladsaxe Stadium”.

The coaching team had chosen the following starting lineup:

Indy Groothuizen (goal)

Gustav Overgaard Hansen

Adrien Koudelka

Frederik Ellegaard

Emil Wass

Oliver Angus

Soren Ilsoe

Albert Norager

Christian Espensen Troelsen
