Tomorrow, Sunday 21 May 2023, there will be a return match against Thisted FC. Last Sunday’s match at Gladsaxe Stadium ended 2-2, as you know, with Thisted FC equalising on a penalty kick in the 89th minute. AB’s goals were scored by Silas Trier Madsen and Frederik Ellegaard.
Early on Sunday, the bus from Gladsaxe Stadium makes the long trip to Thisted, so that the team can be ready for kick-off at 2:00 p.m. Referee Sebastian Tornhøj Nielsen whistles the match to start at Sparekassen Thy Arena (Lerpytter). Thisted can be described as a very difficult away ground, even though it resulted in an AB victory of 2-1 when the two teams met in October in North Jutland. Emil Mygind and Marcus Gudmann scored AB’s goals on that occasion. It should be a repeat of the great result.
Neither team has any players suspended for the match.
Head coach Simon Ervolder Andresen says before Sunday’s match: “We have a long trip to Thisted to meet them in the reverse fixture from last week. We are really looking forward to it. We think we played a good match on Sunday and deserved the three points. We have looked at the match and evaluated where we hurt them – and we need that. At the same time, we must be sharp in closing down what Thisted is good at. So we need revenge, and we are thirsty for the three points. We have to get them on a difficult away field against a strong team that we have great respect for. We also believe in our own abilities and have once again had a really good training week, where the players have maintained their high motivation – we will take that with us to Thisted on Sunday.”
