Important points at stake

AB Gladsaxe will once again travel to Gentofte Sportspark when HIK hosts the 2nd division clash between the two clubs tomorrow, Friday 10 November. Referee Jonas Bøgelund whistles the whistle for the clash in Gentofte at 19.00.

Last week’s home game against FC Roskilde was also played in Gentofte Sportspark, as Gladsaxe Stadium was not usable after the cup match against Vejle. AB was under a lot of pressure in the first half of the game against FC Roskilde and also trailed 1-0 at half-time. But AB came back strong in the 2nd half, took over the game and deservedly equalized to the final score 1-1 in the dying seconds of the game on a direct free-kick goal by Killian van Mil. So if AB can keep up the level from the 2nd half against FC Roskilde, then there are also good chances of bringing home points from Gentofte this week.

HIK is 11th in the table with 11 points before Friday’s game. AB still stays in the Top-6 with 19 points in 6th place. They narrowly lost their last game with 3-2 against Aarhus Fremad in Aarhus. HIK has Emmanuel Ogura in quarantine and AB will have to do without Emiliano Gomez, who is also in quarantine for the match.

The first match of the season against HIK back in mid-August, ended with an AB victory in the unusual digits 5-4. A game that could have gone either way, where AB scored five great goals, but where the defense did not play the best game. AB’s Layton Ndukwu, who had just come on the pitch, knocked the ball into the goal directly on a free kick to make it 5-4 in the 88th minute.

After Friday’s training, head coach David Roufpanah says: “We will play in Gentofte again – this time against HIK. It’s the same place, but it’s two very different teams. HIK does not play in the same way, and it is an offensively minded team we have to face. It is a talented team and they attack with many players. They are good at creating chances, so of course we have looked at that. But we have also looked at how we can avoid them creating chances. We finished the game last week really well, so it is clearly our ambition to come out the same way from the start of the game. The last game against HIK was a goal celebration – probably too much goal celebration”.

Rasmus Brodersen says these words about the match: “We are looking forward to playing against HIK. It is usually some entertaining games with many goals. We have to build on the second half we put together against Roskilde last weekend. We have to continue to go out and we have to bring our intensity into play and create a lot of chances – and then we have to get the three points that we didn’t get last weekend. We must expect something to happen at both ends. We have prepared as always. Very targeted and concentrated.”
