An exciting training match awaits when AB Gladsaxe tomorrow, Saturday 2 March, plays the last training match before the 2nd Division starts up again on Sunday 10 March at Blue Water Arena against Esbjerg fB.
The opponent in the last training match is against BK Olympic and the match will be kicked off at 15.00 at Skovdiget. BK Olympic is the third Swedish team that AB will face in the winter start. BK Olympic plays in the Swedish 1st Division South on a daily basis and ended the 2023 season on November 11 in 9th place out of 16 possible positions in the table. BK Olympic plays in Lindängens Idræts Park in southern Malmö not far from the Øresund Bridge.
For AB, it will be exciting to see how far the team has come in terms of training here in winter training and whether the relationships between the players, not least the new ones, are in place.
After the good effort in last week’s friendly match against IF Österlen FF, the good efforts must be followed up in the upcoming training match. It is also an opportunity to show off both old and new players for the fans who find their way to Skovdiget tomorrow. An indication of a starting line-up must also be possible to spot.
After Friday’s training, head coach David Roufpanah said: “Yes, now it’s the last training match. We have looked at our defensive game a bit and are working on further development of it. In recent weeks, we have been working on improving the different phases of our defensive play. I think it’s gone relatively well, and now we have to put on tomorrow in the training match. Then, of course, we will continue with the way we want to attack. We are well on our way, but it is a process, and I think we are prepared for the Esbjerg match. In the long term, there are various things that we are working on. I think the new players have settled in well, so considering where we were before the winter break, I think it’s fine. We’ll see how much we’ve matured and if it’s enough to win games – the feeling is really good anyway. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow. It’s a training match, so it’s most important that we develop our game. It will be great when we start the tournament again, and we have been training all week, and will train next week again on grass – tomorrow we play on artificial grass”.
