after playing 22 games and scoring 14 goals this season for the U19 team.
It was a moment of pride and anticipation for the Namli family when Ilias stepped onto the pitch, following in the footsteps of his older brother, Younes Namli. Namli himself considers the contract a significant and happy moment in his career: “I’m really proud. It’s something I’ve worked hard for, and the fact that it’s with my childhood club just makes it even bigger. The reception I got at Gladsaxe Stadium made me really happy,” he says.
Ilias Namli followed in his older brother’s footsteps when he made his debut for AB’s first team at Gladsaxe Stadium against Kolding IF last week.
Now it’s all about training hard for the upcoming season: “I’m already looking forward to starting again. I’m working on getting in the best possible shape, because my goal is to contribute as much as possible to the team in the upcoming season,” Namli elaborates.
An excited Erik Stover says: “Ilias is a true AB player who has shown fantastic development in the U19 team this year. With an impressive record of both goals and assists, we hope that he can continue to develop with the first team in the upcoming season.”
In addition to following in his older brother’s footsteps, Ilias also gets the opportunity to play alongside his cousin, Hakim Sighaoui, who also recently signed his first contract with AB.
