The fourth game in the promotion play-offs awaits when AB Gladsaxe welcomes Middelfart tomorrow, Friday 3 May at 19:00 at Gladsaxe Stadium.
Middelfart is in a fine 4th place with 44 points. AB is in 6th place with 31 points. In the three games of the promotion play-offs, Middelfart have achieved three points, while AB have achieved seven points. Middelfart won their last match 2-0 against FC Roskilde. AB won 1-0 against Nykøbing FC.
AB have won two games here in the promotion play-offs and drawn one game. The changed style of play with more possession, quick combinations and two players up front, suits the players well. So maybe it can also give points against Middelfart.
The last match in the regular season against Middelfart was at Gladsaxe Stadion on 6 April, and the match ended with a 3-1 victory for Middelfart. Middelfart led 3-0 at half-time, and Christian Wagner scored AB’s lone goal in the 2nd half.
Despite the defeat to Middelfart, the results in the other games were as well known, so AB still made it to the playoffs. A somewhat strange game against Middelfart, where AB started really well and was completely in the game in terms of play, but where Middelfart on razor-sharp transitions, scored goals.
The match will be refereed by Mathias Lykke with Christian Just Brixen and Søren Lehmann on the lines.
After today’s training, head coach David Roufpanah says:
We really want to go out and play a good game against a strong opponent. Middelfart have lost the last two of three games. So they have repaired a bit in their game and most recently played a really good game against FC Roskilde, which they won. As usual, we have prepared during the week in the best way for the match. We have had a hard time setting our game against Middelfart. We hope that we can change that tomorrow. We are going for the win and it always has to do that, not least at home. Middelfart are really good at standards, so we have prepared for that during the week, now it just has to be done on the field.
Albert Gaub-Jacobsen has these comments on the match:
We definitely want to continue the good streak. The team is ready and we feel ready to meet Middelfart again and get revenge from the last meeting at Gladsaxe Stadium. We have not had such good results against Middelfart. So we really want to win tomorrow. Middelfart a really defensively strong team. They are very compact and clear in their agreements. Our spirits are high after the recent good results, so we are ready.
