Yesterday, Saturday 27 July, AB played an internal training match instead of the cancelled training match against Ariana FC. The coaches had put together the two teams based on the fact that all players should have playing time today. There were U19 players on both teams.
It was the greens against the whites, and the greens won 4-2. The training match is the last before the season opener on Saturday at Gladsaxe Stadium against Næstved.
Head coach Joey Gudjonsson is looking forward to the start of the season: “We have had a really good start. We have strengthened the squad with players who with quality can help raise the level. We are satisfied with the start-up, where we have worked very hard.
Next week will be a completely normal training week, leading up to the first game of the season. The match is also on the home ground at Gladsaxe Stadium, and it is the season opener we have aimed for. We have a team that can play football and we have a really good stadium with a good pitch.
I’ve said it before that when spectators come and look at us, they should first and foremost see a team that plays for AB and who are proud to play with the logo on the shirt. The spectators should be enthusiastic about our way of playing football. They must be able to see that we work hard, but also that we play attractive football.”
