Great team effort led to victory
AB Gladsaxe played a fantastic match today at Gladsaxe Stadium against 2nd division leaders B.93. AB delivered fight, focus and cooperation and even though AB fell behind 0-1 after 21 minutes, the match ended 3-1 in AB’s favor. Compared to the match against Kolding last weekend, Adnan Corovic took a place on the bench and Oliver Angus started on the pitch. Christoffer Thrane was ill before the match, but was ready for the match and took a place on the bench. In his place, Emil Mygind started on the pitch. It was a match with a great fight from both teams, and the chances were 50-50 in the first half. However, it was a mishap that gave B.93 the chance to take the lead. They took advantage of the fact that Anton Basbas Pedersen had to have treatment on the sidelines after 20 minutes, and AB had to play with 10 men for a few minutes. B.93’s Jeppe Erenbjerg pulls across and sends a good shot for a 0-1 lead. Until then, AB was very much in the game, and the good play and fight continued. Anton Basbas Pedersen comes on again, but it doesn’t last more than a few minutes, then he has to be substituted and is replaced by Rasmus Møller. About 10 min. a long pass is sent to Emil Mygind, and he goes around the defender, finishes and sends the ball into the goal to equalize 1-1. AB had several chances before the break, so it was a group of satisfied players and coaches who went to the break. After a few minutes of play in the second half, A gets an indirect free kick on the right side of the field. Oliver Angus is ready with the ball and sends it short behind to Albert Nørager, who hits the defense. However, the ball then ends up with Frederik Ellegaard, who shoots the ball into the goal to lead 2-1. Already 6 min. Oliver Angus sends another long pass to Frederik Ellegaard, who takes the ball along the sideline with a defender right on his heels. Frederik Ellegaard looks towards the box and passes to Emil Wass, who arrives in the middle of the goal and scores for a 3-1 lead. There were more substitutions and everyone who came on the pitch followed up on the fantastic effort the team had put in so far. Actually, there was no sign of B.93 reducing their lead, but they were the leading team in the 2nd division, so there had to be more to come from them. It didn’t, and AB takes a good scalp and can put 3 points in the account. Next week’s match against Jammerbugt is canceled, and another 3 points are added. 602 spectators watched the match in the beautiful weather, and the support was top notch. After the match, the team chose Alessio Alicino as player of the match. After the match, Head Coach Patrick Birch Braune said: “A match to remember. The character and maturity we show on the pitch is second to none. We fall behind, but still follow our plan. We wanted to push B.93 high and be brave. Meet them high on the pitch and hurt them. That’s what we do. Then we get a goal to make it 1-1. In the second half we change strategy and expect them to try something new. We were one move ahead today. Last week in Kolding we were unhappy that we were a step behind in terms of resolving things. We weren’t today and it was clear to see and the victory could have been bigger. We played a very, very mature game in the second half and deserved to win”. Captain Silas Trier Madsen said after the match: “We beat a team that is undefeated. A B.93 that has proven to be incredibly strong. We even came from 1-0 down. I had predicted a 3-1 victory before the match and with a huge team effort both defensively and offensively, we got the win. We show a huge winning mentality and are insanely sharp when we get in front. We are also fantastic in the clearances and duel play. A great team effort where everyone – including those who come in – does a great job”. Starting line-up with substitutions: 3 Gustav OvergÃ¥rd Hansen 4 Anton Basbas Pedersen out – 2 Rasmus Møller in/out – 5 Adnan Curovic in 7 Frederik Ellegaard – 23 Mican Atici in 8 Emil Wass 9 Emil Mygind out – 17 Christoffer Thrane in 11 Oliver Angus 19 Albert Nørager 21 Alessio Alicino 22 Silas Trier Madsen out – 14 James Møller in 25 Tobias Brogaard (goal) 30 Marcus Mustac Gudmann Next match is Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 13.00 against Aarhus Fremad at Gladsaxe Stadium.
