Great effort but it was not enough for a victory.

Great effort but it was not enough for a victory.
The setting was fantastic with 1,823 spectators in the stands, a huge tifo put up by the ever-present AB Forever and a squad of players ready to give their contribution to a good match, a good experience for the many spectators and with “The dream lives” in mind. Unfortunately, AB did not get off to a good start. After just 3 min. A corner kick turned into a goal for AGF and it turned out that it was an own goal. AB fought hard to stay in the game, and it was a good impression they gave when they had the ball for periods. AGF had most of the possession, but the AB players showed their qualities in flashes. After 35 minutes it was 2-0 to AGF after another dead ball, where a shot was saved by Tobias Brogaard, but unfortunately the ball ended up with an AGF player who scored the goal. In the second half, AGF continued to have the ball a lot, but AB got more involved and moved the game further up the pitch. AB moved Marcus Mustac Gudmann forward in midfield and Marcus Hørbye replaced Anton Basbas Pedersen. After 79 min. it went no further. AGF got hold of a loose ball and could sprint towards goal relatively easily, as a large part of AB’s team was over the middle. The result was 3-0 to the Superliga’s no. 6, and it’s a performance that the players and coaching staff can be very pleased with. Now the focus is 100% on the tournament, where Thisted awaits on Saturday, October 15 at 14:00. Head coach Patrick Birch Braune said after the match: “It was actually a very good performance along the way. We were able to take on their standards in the 1st half. Then we got a quick goal against us and of course that shouldn’t happen in a match like this against the top team. But otherwise, I think we had many good periods in the match that we can take with us going forward. AGF scores two goals on standards. We start thinking about the next game and start dosing the players a bit and then they get the third goal. There were a lot of positives today and many good things to take away from the match and it was a good learning experience. Great game and thanks for the support. It was a pleasure”. Today’s starting line-up with substitutions: 3 Gustav Overgaard Hansen 4 Anton Basbas Pedersen out -20 Marcus Hørbye in 7 Frederik Ellegaard out – 23 Mican Atici 8 Emil Wass out – 17 Christoffer Thrane in 11 Oliver Angus 14 James Iheme 9 Emil Mygind out – 19 Albert Nørager 21 Alessio Alicino 22 Silas Trier Madsen out – 5 Adnan Curovic in 25 Tobias Brogaard (goal) 30 Marcus Mustac Gudmann
