AB Gladsaxe played today, Saturday 13 July, the first friendly match against FA 2000 before the start of the season on 3 August.
It was quite a rainstorm that welcomed players, coaches and not least the spectators at Skovdiget, who had defied the extreme weather. The course was excellent to play on according to the conditions.
From the start of the match, AB put a lot of pressure on FA2000 and played with quick combinations and direct play. A picture that lasted throughout the game even though the 2nd half offered many substitutions.
AB started with the new goalkeeper Marcus Bobjerg on goal, Frederik Lindgaard on the right back, Adrien Koudelka and Mikkel Brund took care of the central defense and Rasmus Brodersen on the left back. In midfield were Daniel A. Pedersen, Søren Ilsøe with Yushi Yamaya and Ágúst Hlynsson on the wings. At the very top was Christian Wagner and the new acquisition Marco Ramkilde.
AB played with many diagonal shifts towards the edges, not least to Yushi Yamaya. A cross from the right side from Frederik Lindgaard is well in the box, FA 2000’s goalkeeper is marked by Christian Wagner and loses the ball, which lands right in front of Søren Ilsøe, who heads the ball into the goal for a 1-0 lead. That was also the score at half-time. It was a goal that had been in the pipeline from the start of the match.
The lead lasted until the break and should have been bigger, but the efficiency was not there.
Goalkeeper Marcus Bobjerg, who started in the 1st half and was later replaced by Albert Gaub-Jacobsen, did not have much to take care of and therefore did not have the opportunity to show himself.
From the start of the 2nd half, O’Vonte Mullings came on the field and replaced Marco Ramkilde at the top.
Malthe Melin (trial player) replaced Yushi Yamaya, and after a few minutes Malthe took some quick moves towards the middle of the penalty area and played O’Vonte Mullings free – he took a few moves and knocked the ball into the net.
During the 2nd half, Ilias Namli, Noah Maale, Emil Mygind Jensen, Pachanga Kristensen,
Hørður Askham and Jonatan Ari Bragason (trial player) on the field and at the end of the match Noah Ibsen and Daniel Jacobsen also come into play.
Despite the many substitutions, it was AB who sat on the match. 3-0 it was also 3-0 when a shot from Malthe Melin was parried in FA 2000’s defense and went into the goal.
A soaked head coach Joey Gudjonsson said after the game: “We played a good game today in difficult conditions with the rain. These are conditions that may also be relevant in the autumn matches. It was good to see the players’ approach to the game and also see how they worked together as a team. When we pressed, we did very well. The team’s form was good.
It was difficult to create the big chances in the game, but we had a few and the defense stood well. It’s fine so early in the start-up phase that it looks so good. Even though the players have trained hard and the conditions are difficult in this match, I am especially pleased with the players’ approach to the game. We wanted to win, score goals and for the team to clean up – and we did!”.
The next training match will be played on Friday 19 July at 19.30 at Skovdiget, where Holstein Kiel’s U23 team is the opponent.
