Good training match against Avarta

Good training match against Avarta
The coaching team for today’s match was Stefan Payberg Larsen and Morten Kannegaard, who quickly changed the planned gameplan when the original opponent AB Tårnby canceled. Fortunately, Avarta showed up and gave AB a good training match. Avarta play in the Danish league and will play in the promotion playoff to the 3rd division in the spring. AB won the match 3-0 after being ahead 2-0 at halftime. From the start of the match, AB played fast and stood high on the pitch. This kept Avarta from getting near AB’s goal, where Oliver Børner was standing. Avarta was a rare guest in front of AB’s goal and had virtually no finishes in the first half. Frederik Ellegaard was again in the starting lineup. He was quickly up front, but a great chance after 13 min. did not lead to a goal. After 20 min. the combinations got going. The ball ended up with Asger Højmark-Jensen, who kicked the ball into the net for a 1-0 lead. It was Asger’s debut goal in the green jersey, which was black in today’s match. There were many chances and good finishes, but it wasn’t until shortly before half-time that another AB goal was scored. Alessio Alicino breaks the play in midfield and sends the ball forward to Frederik Ellegaard, who comes sprinting towards goal. Frederik Ellegaard scores safely to make it 2-0. After the break, there were more substitutions. Marcus Hørbye and Christian Espersen Troelsen came into the defense and Marcus Gudmann moved forward in midfield. From the start of the second half, Avarta got more into the game and had some chances, but none of them led to goals. AB also had chances, but they didn’t lead to goals. On one of the well-played attacks, Lucas Ørneborg ran through on the edge and put the ball across the box. Unfortunately, no goal was scored, and even worse, Lucas Ørneborg had to retire with an injury. At the end of the match, Marcus Gudmann played Albert Nørager, who found Emil Wass, who scored to make it 3-0. After the match, Stefan Payberg Larsen said: “We won 3-0 over Avarta. First and foremost, we are grateful that it was possible to arrange a training match on a Friday evening, now that AB Tårnby had canceled. We had to face a team where we didn’t know what to expect, so a big thank you to Avarta. We solved it really well in the first half. We sat on the game and also had chances for a little more. We lead 2-0 at halftime and have things under control. Avarta comes out for the second half and changes some things that we take too long to react to. We make some changes and try to spare some players centrally. It becomes a bit too unstructured for us and things don’t really come together. We solve it in the last part of the second half and we’re back in the game. All in all, a good game where we got more time with the ball and worked on some solutions offensively. It’s not always the easiest thing and sometimes we have problems today. We have great ambitions throughout the match and many things are really good and others need to be worked on. So it will be a bit of a fifty-fifty game. We play at an acceptable pace and get to press the ball. There are many things with the ball that we need to work on and we were able to do that today. So again, all in all, a good training match”. The coaching team had chosen the following starting line-up: Gustav Overgaard Hansen Adrien Koudelka Oliver Angus Alessio Alicino Mustac Gudmann Trialist Frederik Ellegaard Oliver Børner (goal) Rasmus Møller Asger Højmark-Jensen Emil Wass During the match, the following players came on the pitch: Lucas Ørneborg Marcus Hørbye Christian Espersen Troelsen Frederik Lindegaard Lindgaard Albert Nørager Emil Mygind Next training match is Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 13.00 against Nykøbing FC at Skovdiget.
