Good dress rehearsal

Earlier today, AB Gladsaxe played against FA 2000 in the last friendly match in the run-up to the coming season. There were thus three victories in the start.

The coaching staff had chosen the following starting line-up:

1 Indy Groothuizen

3 Erik Lindell

4 Adrien Koudelka

26 Christian Espensen Troelsen

29 Ibrahim Doumbia

6 Daniel A. Pedersen

8 Emil Wass

24 Mark Garly Pedersen

11 Killian van Mil

28 Emiliano Gomez

19 Christian Wagner

It was a true goal with a total of nine goals. Fortunately, it was AB who scored the most goals and won 6-3.

FA 2000 presses high on AB from the start, but after 8 min. AB quickly gets out of the pressure in a transition with quick and precise passes. This results in a goal for 1-0 scored by Christian Wagner. A few minutes later, AB is not at all attentive enough, and FA 2000 can equalize to the score 1-1.

Two goals by Emil Wass

AB gets a lot of play, but FA 2000 showed their teeth and sent a shot on the post. After just under 1/2 hour of playing time, Emil Wass gets hold of the ball, and he continues to challenge the defense, and almost ends up at the back line, where he sends a fantastic shot into the goal for a 2-1 lead.

Inattention again made the difference, when the defense got positioned incorrectly, so an FA 2000 player stands completely free and scores to equalize 2-2.

Then it is again Emil Wass, who is at stake in front of FA 2000’s defence. He looks around, then pulls over the middle, sends a good shot and the ball ends up in the goal for a 3-2 lead.

In the second half, AB keeps a high tempo, and there is still fine and fast play down the field.

However, the goals are not until a good kick from Indy Groothuizen reaches Killian van Mil, who sends the ball into the box, where Mark Garly Pedersen can score to make it 4-2.

In the 64th minute, AB’s new acquisition Tim Freriks came in on the right wing and showed his explosive speed from the start.

Erik Lindell takes the trip along the sideline and sends a cross to Ilias Namli, who safely scores to make it 5-2. The last scorer was Erik Lindell to make it 6-2. Then came a number of substitutions, which caused some confusion, and the team was not at all in place, so FA 2000 could reduce to the match score 6-3.

It can still be seen that the team is not yet sufficiently cohesive and that the organization therefore fails at times during the match. However, it was clear that AB is physically well equipped before the start of the tournament.

Substitutions and substitutions:

Expires:

Emiliano Gomez, Christian Wagner, Ibrahim Doumbia, Christian Espensen Troelsen, Mark Garly Pedersen, Emil Wass and Killian van Mil.

On the field will be:

Tim Freriks, Ilias Namli, Lucas Ørneborg, Emiliano Arrieta, Marcelo Randolf, Pachanga Kristensen and Oliver Drost.

After the game, AB’s head coach David Roufpanah said: “Of course, we have to analyze the game in depth to get the big picture.

But the fact that we score six goals and have opportunities to score even more goals is very positive. On the other hand, it is not good that we concede three goals. But it is also normal where we are in the process, where the organization is not quite in place, that goals are set against you. We are still a team that must be played together and where we must work with the team’s organization.

In the 2nd half, we will increase the intensity and we will continue to work on that in the fourth week leading up to the start of the season next Saturday. I also think that in parts of the game we set the game and the game at a high pace – but it can be better still.”

AB’s first match of the 2023-2024 season will be played on Saturday 5 August 2023 at 15:00 against Nykøbing FC at Lollands Bank Park in Nykøbing F.
