Today’s training match against FC Nordsjælland’s international academy (IA) was played on the artificial turf pitch in Right to Dream Park in Farum. The match ended with a 4-1 victory for AB Gladsaxe.
AB started with Marcus Bobjerg on goal. In central defence were Noah Ibsen and Yael Liesdek. On the right defensive side, Steven Simpson was positioned in a place unfamiliar to him and on the left side Rasmus Brodersen. The central midfield consisted of Agust Hlysson and Ægir Jarl Jónasson. On the wings played O’Vonte Mallings and Yushi Yamaya, and at the top were Marco Ramkilde (captain) and Noah Engell Christensen.
AB sat on the game from the first second, lay high on the court, played in small spaces and put a lot of energy into the game. There was an advantage in Abs favor in almost all facets of the game against the young team from FC Nordsjælland, who already after eight minutes were marked by a goal. After good pressure, Marco Ramkilde got the ball and played to Noah Engell, who could score to make it 1-0.
There were not many attempts from FCN, and the tenacious AB play was rewarded with another goal after 22 minutes. After a little ping-pong with a shot on goal, the ball ended up with Marco Ramkilde, who scored to make it 2-0.
Only four minutes later, Agust Hlynsson put on a trump card and scored to make it 3-0.
A set-up error gave FCN the ball, and an FCN player could score without chance for Marcus Bobjerg to make the score 3-1 to AB at half-time.
In the starting line-up for the 2nd half were: Marcus Bobjerg (goal), Yael Liesdek, Ægir Jarl Jonasson, Søren Ilsøe (captain), Steven Simpson, Mikkel Brund, Frederik Lindgaard, Noah Poulsen (U19), Tobias Hageltorn, Noah Ibsen and Lulian Jakupi (U19).
Later, Marcus Bobjerg, Ægir Jarl Jonasson and Noah Ibsen went out and were replaced by Nicholas Christoffersen (goal), Adrien Koudelka and Emil Mygind.
The players continued to show good tactics, but the game was not as coherent as in the first half. The many substitutions meant that the relationships and thus the safety of the passes were not quite in place.
There were not many chances, and the game wavered between the fields, without any significant chances occurring for large parts of the 2nd half. However, there was still a little overweight in the game for Abs page. The two U19 players Noah Poulsen and Lulian Jakupi both made fine appearances.
Frederik Lindgaard again showed his danger and ran into a good cross and headed the ball into the goal for the final score 4-1.
Joey Gudjonsson was not entirely satisfied after gamesn.
”It was two very different halves. We changed a lot during the break, and that was also the intention. FC Nordsjælland also changed a number of players during the break, so it was a good fit. FC Nordsjælland is a good team, they keep the ball and play up the edges , and it was most clearly expressed in the 1st half.
Just like in the game against Brønshøj, the players did not react the way I would like. We must always play the agreed game, even when we are leading, otherwise it will not be coherent.
There are some who start playing themselves, and it doesn’t work. Of course, I will take that up with the players, because we always have to play as a team, regardless of whether we are leading or behind.
Or it was very positive, but it is always the case that we find something in the training matches that we can work on and make the team better.”
The next training match will be played on Saturday 8 February 2025 at 12:00 against Næstved.
