Tomorrow, Sunday 11 February 2024, AB Gladsaxe will play the second training match of the winter start. Despite a narrow defeat against Trelleborg FF, AB will follow up on a well-played training match.
The opponent is FA 2000, who visits Skovdiget’s artificial turf field. The match starts at 12.00. FA 2000 and AB are two teams that have met many times in both friendly matches, cup matches and tournament matches. In the autumn alone, the two teams faced each other three times. It was 2-2 in August in Frederiksberg. AB knocked FA 2000 out of the cup in September after a fierce battle that had to go into extra time before AB could win 3-2. AB was down 0-2 after the 1st half. The winning goal was scored by Ilias Namli, who has just been loaned out to FA 2000 from 1 January 2024. Finally, AB ended the autumn season in November with a 3-2 victory over FA 2000 at Gladsaxe Stadium. That was the match that was played on the grass pitch next to the stadium.
FA 2000 will play their fourth friendly on Sunday in their inaugural season. Most recently, FA 2000 won 2-1 against Brønshøj BK. It will also be another reunion with FA 2000 head coach Semere Haile, who played in AB from the turn of the year 2012 to the summer of 2014 and who has also had several coaching assignments in AB.
Head coach David Roufpanah said: “We have four friendlies to test our tactics and how we want to play in the season. So it’s a preparation for the 16 games that await in the season. We will use the training matches to test our ideas. It will be a different training match than last time and every training match will be, because they will each have their own focus. Of course, I hope that we will see more of the good sequences from the match against Trelleborg against FA 2000. We had some really good and intensive sequences with some good transitions, which we could have created some better chances on. So I hope that we can do better. We also need to hold on to the ball better and play a bit more and have more patience. So we get the variation in pace that we want.”
