AB played today the 2nd of 4 friendly matches ahead of the start of the season on 10 March 2024. Today’s match was played at Skovdiget against FA 2000. It was a team that AB has played against several times. Head coach David Roufpanah emphasized that it was a test match in relation to getting ready for the next 16 games in the 2nd division and not specifically winning friendly matches.
For today’s match, the following starting line-up was chosen:
Albert Gaub-Jacobsen (goalkeeper)
Adrien Koudelka
Rasmus Brodersen
Daniel A. Pedersen
Tim Freriks
Mark Garly
Flamur Dzelili
Ibrahim Doumbia
Frederik Lindgaard
Yushi Yamaya
Ágúst Hlynsson
AB started the game well and got themselves some chances. FA 2000 also had the build-up to scoring, which Albert Gaub-Jakobsen took care of.
After 20 minutes, Albert Gaub-Jakobsen unfortunately had to leave the field with an injury. He was replaced by the newcomer goalkeeper Jesper Sørensen.
As the game progressed, FA 2000 took over the game and took over more and more of the game. AB had a hard time holding the ball and setting the game.
Without any big chances, AB gets a golden opportunity to score through good pressure, but after several finishes, FA 2000 intercepts the ball. The quick conversion led to a good shot, which Jesper Sørensen half-parries. The ball ends up in the hands of Casper Holmelund, who puts FA 2000 ahead 1-0.
At the end of the half, Tim Frericks has a great opportunity to equalise, but he heads past the goal.
After 5 minutes in the 2nd half, an FA 2000 player got a free run towards goal after a conversion. The finish ends in the goal for a 2-0 lead by Peter Kaiser. AB gets a free kick and Tim Freriks finishes, but the ball ends up in FA 2000’s court, who again makes a quick conversion, which is slowed down by AB’s defence.
FA 2000’s pace drops, and AB gets more chances. After 32 minutes, Søren Ilsøe sees that the FA goalkeeper is a bit far away from the goal. Søren Ilsøe sends a perfect shot not far from the center circle, and the ball lands in the goal to reduce 1-2.
Just 5 minutes later, Søren Ilsøe gets the chance to double his goal scoring in today’s game. Christian Wagner passes inside an FA 2000 defender in the box and Søren Ilsøe is completely free and just has to pass the goalkeeper, but his finish ends up over the goal.
A foul in the FA 2000 defence caused an FA 2000 player and the goalkeeper to go wrong and lose the ball. Emiliano Gomez intercepts the ball and resolutely sends it into the goal for an equaliser 2-2.
U19 player Noah Ibsen came on the field and takes a place in central defense and made an excellent jump.
AB’s good end to the game could have given a victory, as Ahmed Hassan comes completely free and finishes, but the shot ends up over the goal.
Head coach David Roufpanah said after the game: “We started the game well and were in control for the first 10-15 minutes. We create two good chances that we don’t score on. Then we have 30 minutes where we become too passive and give away the initiative. We let FA 2000 come into the game and they get to set the game the way they want it. We make some adjustments during the break and it takes about 10-12 minutes of the 2nd half before adjustments are fully expressed. Then we slowly get back into the game. The end of the game is really good for us and you can say that we played really well at the beginning and at the end of the game. In between, it wasn’t good enough, but it’s a training match and we have to keep working.”
From the pitch went:
Rasmus Brodersen, Flamur Dzelili, Yushi Yamaya, Ibrahim Doumbia and Tim Freriks
On the field came:
Emiliano Gomez, Julius Lind, Søren Ilsøe, Ahmed Hassan and Noah Ibsen.
The next training match is on Wednesday 21 February 2024 at 7 pm in Simrishamn.
