Defeat against B.93

AB Gladsaxe played a match in the promotion game earlier today. It ended in a 3-0 defeat to B.93. Compared to the last match in Esbjerg, Alessio Alicino was back in the starting line-up after his suspension, and Søren Ilsøe had to take a seat on the bench. It was otherwise a really lovely sunny day at Gladsaxe Stadion, where 787 spectators had turned up. Before referee Niclas Gomes blew the whistle, director Erik Stover handed over the “100 match shirt” to Frederik Ellegaard, who played his 100th match for AB in last week’s match in Esbjerg. The match was characterised by a lot of duel play in the midfield, and at times AB had difficulty playing the ball out of the defensive zone and getting on the pitch. B.93 had the majority of the game in the 1st half. They came on the pitch quickly and had many attempts. If it hadn’t been for too many saves from Albert Gaub-Jakobsen, B.93 could have taken the lead at half-time. After 23 minutes, Albert Gaub-Jakobsen parries a good shot from B.93 for a corner kick in flying style. On the following corner kick, B.93 heads the ball on goal and again Albert Gaub-Jakobsen makes a good save. AB only had sporadic chances. Even though Frederik Ellegaard quickly came onto the field, it was still 0-0 at half-time.

After the break, Gustav Overgaard Hansen comes on the field and replaces Rasmus Møller in central defense next to Markus Mustec Gudmand. AB had a really good change in the 56th minute, where Frederik Ellegaard drives the ball forward, plays Emiliano Gomez, who sends a quick pass into the box to Emil Wass, who is blocked by a B.93 player – from the outside it looked like a penalty. After the 62nd minute, there are problems in AB’s defense field, and the ball is not kicked away, so Ahmed Daghim from B.93 can kick the ball into the goal for 1-0. Subsequently, AB comes more into the game. However, it was ruined by Jeppe Erenbjerg from B.93 in the 74th minute. intercepting the ball in the middle of the field and resolutely shooting towards the goal and into the goal! B.93 lead at 2-0. B.93 got another goal when Nicolaj Thomsen in the 81st minute. brings B.93 to 3-0, which was the result of the match.

Head coach Simon Ervolder Andresen said after the match: “We are facing a really good football team, which we deserved to lose to today. They are well set up, have talented individualists and have a good team. I think we started the match poorly with too little will. We are losing too many duels, we are not able to push forward, so it will be a difficult match. We have to look at it and then we have to learn from it and work on. It was great to play at Gladsaxe Stadion and feel the support we get. It has been a difficult time for all of us and also a big challenge for me. We have trained really well, then unfortunately we lose today and we have to learn from that.” Captain Silas Trier Madsen said: “We lose to a better football team on the day. We underperform and at the same time B.93 plays a good game. We dominate in far too few periods in this game. We get pressured and we never really get over it. Then it’s us who get caught up in it and constantly run after them – and then you can’t win a football game.
