Big turnout for fan night in the Knud Lundberg Lounge

AB A/S hosted a traditional fan evening, but this time the focus was on the new ownership group. CEO Erik Stover welcomed and updated on the work, head coach Patrick Birch Braune talked about the sporting side and Indy Groothuizen, the new injured goalkeeper, shared his experiences about his time at the club.

Erik talked about the new group of owners who are working together to create something big and beautiful. He informed about new hires and collaboration agreements that will optimize all aspects and add new layers to the club. AB has a long history with great passion, and the owners are listening to everyone so that together they can become better.

Patrick talked about the big change the club has undergone and that they are taking long steps very quickly. He talked about new training times and upgraded training rooms that provide great value on and off the pitch. Indy shared his positive experience of AB and the special culture and historical reference the club has.

Since the winter break, AB has updated its website and communicative expression, developed new merchandise and hired employees for communication, sales and optimization of practical matters around the team. All this is a step towards creating a potential Super League club.

After the speeches, there were questions from the audience, including whether the investors will invest more if necessary. Erik replied that the owners want to raise money, but also ensure a sustainable and good business. Contracts have been written for 4-5 years and there are no immediate plans for further capital injection.

Another question was whether the club had plans to partner with a bigger club. The management answered that while they have contacts in big clubs, they will not commit to working with a bigger club. They have their own path and they will continue to stay true to AB’s identity.

A third question was whether the club would establish women’s football. The management answered that the club has plans to form a women’s team and that they would really like to move faster on this, but that no time frame has been set for its establishment.

Finally, management was asked about their plans with sponsors. The management answered that it’s not just the money that is important, but very much the relationships. They will work to create relationships with both local and larger sponsors, and also work with local clubs because it is important to them.

The fan night culminated with a nice chat in the lounge between some of the attending investors and AB fans.
