Another great game by AB Gladsaxe
AB Gladsaxe took a well-deserved 5-2 victory over Skive earlier today. Before the match, Skive was 5th with 8 points and AB 6th with 7 points in the table. AB put things right and won 5-2 on goals scored by Emil Wass, Frederik Ellegaard (penalty), Frederik Ellegaard, Emil Wass and Mican Atici. In today’s match, Simon Holden was replaced by Alessio Alicino in the starting lineup after Simon Holden suffered an ankle injury in training earlier this week. It only took two minutes before a Skive player sent the ball onto the post. Then AB was warned. The next 30 min. gave several chances to both teams, but most of them to AB. Still, they didn’t manage to get on the scoreboard. After 29 min. There was a mix-up in the Skive defense and Emil Wass shot the ball over the line for a 1-0 lead. Just 5 min. a Skive player is able to dribble unhindered across and send a shot just outside the box. The ball is sent into the opposite corner to equalize 1-1. The game was a bit hesitant for both teams, but AB had the upper hand in the game. Shortly before half-time, Christoffer Thrane was brought down in the box and the referee awarded a penalty kick. Frederik Ellegaard converted it to lead 2-1. 2nd half is only 5 min. old when Skive gets a corner kick. Tobis Brogaard goes well into the box and grabs the ball. He resolutely kicks it out to Emil Wass in the middle of the pitch. He magically takes the ball with him and sends a nice pass to Frederik Ellegaard, who just as nicely sends the ball into the box for 3-1. After 56 min. Marcus Mustac Gudmann goes between a Skive pass and runs the ball up the field. He plays the ball out to Emil Wass, who sends a ball along the ground into the goal for a 4-1 lead. Skive had opportunities but failed to convert them into goals at that point in the match. AB had substitutions and the level dropped. After 74 minutes, Tobias Brogaard pulled off another good save, shortly after a Skive player is alone through and has a free shot, but Tobias Brogaard makes the save. The defense became more passive, and a few min. Skive reduces the lead to 2-4. Then a Skive player unnecessarily makes a huge tackle on Frederik Ellegaard. The referee awards a yellow card for the offense – he could have tolerated a straight red card – but as he already had a yellow card, Skive had to play the last 15 min. with 10 men. When the stadium clock has reached 90 minutes, Skive gets a free kick just outside the box. There’s nervousness in the stands, but again Tobias Brogaard is on the spot and grabs the ball. Mican Atici also wanted to be involved and after two missed chances, he managed to cruise through the box and put the ball in the net for the final score 5-2. After the match, head coach Patrick Birch Braune said: “A nice win today. Skive is a difficult opponent and it was a difficult task that lay ahead of us today. They are waiting for us to make mistakes. The scoring potential we have unlocked is absolutely outstanding. It’s hard to lose football matches when you score so many goals. We need to close down better and we need to focus on that and continue to work on it. We were in a situation where we had to spare some players who have played a lot. It caused some turmoil defensively in the final phase when those players were substituted. All in all, an excellent match. Three wins in a row and we’ve scored a lot of goals, so it’s just fantastic”. Captain Silas Trier Madsen said: “Four wins in a row, if we count the cup game. It shows that we’re in an insanely strong period. It’s crazy how many football boxes we can create. Our offense is really scary. We play a really good game, but we give away the initiative at the end of the game. But we’ve also played three games in a week. So of course the squad is tired and when you’re 4-1 up, it’s probably natural to slow down. But we won’t and we need to work on that. A nice win today and it looks really good,” the team named Frederik Ellegaard player of the match after the match. Starting line-up with substitutions: 3 Gustav Overgård Hansen 4 Anton Basbas Pedersen 7 Frederik Ellegaard 8 Emil Wass 11 Oliver Angus 17 Christoffer Thrane out – Emil Mygind in 19 Albert Nørager out – Lucas Koch in 21 Alessio Alicino out – Mican Atici in 22 Silas Trier Madsen out – 5 Adnan Curovic in 25 Tobias Brogaard (goal) 30 Marcus Mustac GudmannNext match is Saturday, September 17 at 14.00 against Kolding IF in Kolding.
