Another top team awaits when AB Gladsaxe welcomes Aarhus Fremad on Sunday 17 March 2024 at Gladsaxe Stadium. The referee of the match, Allan Staal, flew the match at 15:00.
Aarhus Fremad occupies 3rd place in the 2nd division with 33 points. AB occupies the 6th spot with 22 points.
AB will follow up last Sunday’s fine performance in Esbjerg. Although it was a narrow defeat of 2-1, AB sat on the game for large parts of the game – not least in the 2nd half.
Aarhus Fremad comes to the match with a 1-0 win over Thisted FC at home in Aarhus.
Neither of the two teams has players in quarantine.
Head coach David Roufpanah says after today’s training: “We have to face another top team and that is really good. These are the kinds of games you look forward to. These are tough battles with great intensity. These are exciting and close matches. Esbjerg and Aarhus Fremad are top teams, but also two different teams. Aarhus Fremad is a team that plays with high intensity. We also saw that in the first match in Aarhus. I’m looking forward to playing at home. Personally, I have missed playing at Gladsaxe Stadium in front of our fans. Of course, we have looked at the latest game in Esbjerg and at what we can do better. We played a really good game especially in the second half. Stood well defensively, played well offensively, created many chances and then we score a goal. We have played well in the last training matches and in the 2nd half on Sunday, so we are in a good position.”
The two teams’ first match in the tournament took place in early October at Riisvangen Stadium and ended 1-1. Hørdur Askham equalized in the 80th minute. In the rest of the match, goalkeeper Asger Gaub-Jakobsen shows fantastic play and magically saves two penalties.
Hørdur Askham has also been selected again for the Faroese national team, which will face Denmark at Brøndby Stadium on March 26, 2024.
Rasmus Brodersen gives the match these words on the way: “First and foremost, we are looking forward to playing at home again in front of our fans. We are also good at home and we will build on that. We also have to bring our good game in Esbjerg to the game. If we can play all 90 minutes, like our 2nd half in Esbjerg, then it will be 3 points. We succeeded with the things we have trained. We find each other well and play with courage and intensity. We play on our terms and probably just need to score some more goals.”
Tim Freriks, who again scored a goal in the game against Esbjerg, is also looking forward to the game: “I expect that we can play a good game, because we have a good feeling after especially the 2nd half against Esbjerg. I think it’s important that we get a better start to the match. We need to be sharper and completely clear from the first minute. Aarhus we last played against away from home. I think we played a good game, where we pressed well. We got a draw, but I think we played really well. So we have to be ready and come with the same energy tomorrow.”
See you at Gladsaxe Stadium for the first home game of the spring, where there will probably also be an opportunity to see some of the new players.
