A genuine and traditional Copenhagen clash awaits tomorrow, Saturday 31 August 2024. AB Gladsaxe will travel to Valby Idrætspark to face BK Frem starting at 14:00.

BK Frem have really been missed, while they have been in the 3rd division. Copenhagen clashes can just do something special and have a life of their own both on and off the pitch.

But now BK Frem is back in the 2nd division and what a return – BK Frem currently occupies 2nd place in the table. AB is number 3 in the table, so it is also a top match, even though it is early in the season. When BK Frem team consists of a number of former AB players, it can hardly get bigger and more exciting.

Most recently, BK Frem won 1-0 in Nykøbing FC. As you know, AB won 3-2 at home in Gladsaxe against strong Aarhus Fremad.

The man who looks after the whistle is referee Allan Staal and on the lines run Anders Eriksen and Martin Egtved Munch Jørgensen. None of the teams are quarantine affected.

After today’s training, head coach Joey Gudjonsson said: “Even though the match against FREM is a clash between two traditional clubs, we go into the match as we do for all other matches. It’s an away game and we know it’s a good team and also that they’ve started the season really well. It is important for us to focus on our attitude. We have good players and we can score goals – we know that. We have to be mentally ready for the game tomorrow and be aggressive in everything we do. FREM plays along the ground and they play forward. They have good and talented players, so if you give them time to play, they can do well. So we have to limit their opportunities for them to play their games. Our Gameplan is that we have to stop them doing what they are good at – and then we have identified their weaknesses.”

O’Vonte Mullings added: “It’s a game we’re looking forward to. Of course, we want to win, but for us the most important thing is that we play as a team, work hard and stick to our principles. If we can do that, then we will come out of the game with a win.
For my own part, I feel comfortable high on the pitch. I think that’s where I help the team best and am most productive. We have to play as a team and use our skills to create good situations in the match. It’s about finding each other, making assists and also scoring goals.”
