All hands to the bleachers on Wednesday at 18:00
Now with the gross squad at the end of the post!AB Gladsaxe meets AGF in the cup tournament Wednesday evening at 18.00 at Gladsaxe Stadium. The last time AB Gladsaxe met AGF at Gladsaxe Stadium was in 2015. Both teams played in the 1st division and it was a 1-0 victory for AGF. Now a reunion awaits in the cup, where both clubs have many good results. In 1999, AB played all the way to the final in Parken, where 25,113 spectators saw AB win 2-1 over AaB and take the cup. Read posts from bold.dk at www.ab-fodbold.dk about Frederik Ellegaard’s view on the cup match tomorrow and posts and memories from former AB player Martin Albrechtsen from the 1999 final. Wednesday night’s match against AGF will obviously be a big game for the team, so all hands must be on deck to give their full support to the players, coaches and everyone around the team. AGF won their last cup match 8-0 against Vatanspor. In their last Superliga match, AGF lost 0-1 to FC Midtjylland at home at Ceres Park. AB won narrowly 2-1 against Kastrup BK in their most recent cup match. In Sunday’s tournament match, AB played 2-2 with the city kids from Aahus Fremad. It was probably the most dramatic match played at Gladsaxe Stadium in years, culminating in Aarhus Fremad’s equalizer in 10 minutes of injury time. Head coach Patrick Birch Braune says: “We’re playing AGF – it’s one of those great matches where we get to test ourselves on the top shelf. AGF is an illustrious club. These are legendary matches as they are the only two clubs that have not been out of the division system in Denmark. We’ll have to see if we can’t ask AGF to dance. We can certainly disclaim the favorite role. But we also know that cup games have a life of their own and maybe we can pull off a surprise. It will also be an opportunity to thank all the volunteers and those who support the club and give them some attention. They work every day to make a club like this work. So I would like to take advantage of the fact that there is a lot of attention on the club in the run-up to the cup match against AGF, to say thank you to the volunteers and stakeholders around the club who put a huge amount of work into it.” The squad, from which the coaches can choose their starting line-up, will be announced on Wednesday and the starting line-up can be seen on Facebook one hour before the referee whistles the cup match. Remember tickets must be purchased at www.boldbillet.dk – please note: AGF spectators must be in the old stand, entrance 1 towards the artificial turf pitches. Other spectators must be in the new stand, entrance 4 towards the training pitches. The match starts at 18.00 – come in good time – and have a good match.Gross squad:The coaching team can set the starting lineup among these players:3 Gustav OvergÃ¥rd Hansen4 Anton Basbas Pedersen5 Adnan Curovic7 Frederik Ellegaard8 Emil Wass9 Emil Mygind11 Oliver Angus14 James Iheme15 Lucas Koch16 Casper Hauervig (goal)17 Christoffer Thrane19 Albert Nørager20 Marcus Hørbye21 Alessio Alicino22 Silas Trier Madsen23 Mican Atici25 Tobias Brogaard (goal)30 Marcus Mustac Gudmann
