GLADSAXE, Denmark – Akademisk Boldklub Gladsaxe today announces that the club will collaborate with Too Good To Go to reduce food waste from Gladsaxe Stadium. This means that via the Too Good To Go app, you can order food left over after the match.
“Food waste from stadium and arena events has been a global problem for decades,” says AB Gladsaxe CEO, Erik Stover. “Throughout my career in sports and entertainment, it has always bothered me that more could not be done. Now with Too Good To Go, it is possible for us to take an important step towards making our club more sustainable while supporting our neighbours.”
The Too Good To Go concept is simple. Instead of excess food being thrown away, users can buy it through the app for a third of the original price. App users can pick up their meals at a designated location outside the stadium. All purchases and all communication are made through the app.
Too Good To Go has over 2.9 million registered users in Denmark and in 2022 has saved over 79 million meals worldwide, which has prevented 200,000 tons of CO2 emissions from being wasted in the process.
“We are looking forward to the collaboration with Akademisk Boldklub Gladsaxe,” says Country Manager for Too Good To Go in Denmark, Heidi Boye. “It is fantastic to see Akademisk Boldklub Gladsaxe’s dedication to reducing food waste at home games, and we are happy to be able to help Gladsaxe Stadium achieve that goal.”
“To celebrate the launch of our partnership, we will have Too Good To Go as our shirt sponsor for the first game of the season against Nykøbing on Saturday,” says Stover. “We will then have a number of additional campaigns throughout the year to help draw attention to our Too Good To Go partnership and our collective efforts to lead a more sustainable lifestyle.”
The first home game for AB, where Too Good To Go users can buy food, will be on Saturday 12. August at Gladsaxe Stadium with the match starting at 15.00.
