Against Nykøbing at Gladsaxe Stadium

AB Gladsaxe have two more games to play during the Easter week. The first will be played tomorrow Maundy Thursday 28 March 2023, when AB will welcome Nykøbing FC at Gladsaxe Stadium at 15:00.

The match could also be called the battle for top-6, as AB meets Fremad Amager on Monday 2nd Easter Sunday.
The current rankings are that AB occupies 6th place with 24 points, Nykøbing FC is in 5th place with 27 points and Fremad Amager occupies 7th place with 19 points. So it is some terrifically exciting matches that AB is facing.
Neither AB nor Nykøbing have got off to a flashy start with the spring season. After three games, AB has picked up two points and Nykøbing FC has got three points. Nykøbing FC lost their last match 3-0 to FC Roskilde. AB played 1-1 in Skive.

Nykøbing FC and AB played the first match of the season on August 5 against each other. The result was 0-0. It was a match in which both sides were in the process of playing a new team together.
Nykøbing FC has Adam Vendelbo Clement in quarantine. AB has no one in quarantine.

Head coach David Roufpanah says: “It was a bit of a special game against Skive on Saturday. A different game. But now we are back on the home turf of our fans and supporters. It will be great to come out with new energy at home. It’s on a better pitch where we can better play in the way we want to play. We will set the game and increase the intensity.
We have looked at how to attack Nykøbing FC with the ball. We are well prepared and have also looked at our defensive play a little bit, which we can do better. Nykøbing FC are flexible in the way they defend and in the way they attack. So it’s a little different how they play.
We must have full respect for Nykøbing FC. They come into the match with some less good results and have, among other things, conceded 6 goals in the last two games. Of course, they will bring everything they have to pick up points against us.”

Goalkeeper Albert Gaub-Jakobsen says the following after today’s training: “We have had some good games lately. The Skive match was a difficult pitch to play on, so there is not much we can take with us.
We have to take what we have done well, and then we have to score on our chances. In the first game in Nykøbing, we had a lot of chances, but there the game ended 0-0. Now it’s about putting the ball in the box tomorrow at Gladsaxe Stadium.”

Rasmus Brodersen, who sat out the match against Skive due to quarantine, says: “We always look forward to playing at home. I think we are good there. We have to make it difficult for them tomorrow, because we have to get the first win of the year. We have to win the game, because it’s not enough that we play well. We take the good from the last games against Esbjerg and Aarhus Fremad, and it must translate into a victory. We have games and opportunities, so we have to get there to score and keep a clean sheet.”
