Against Esbjerg away from home

It will be an exciting match again when AB Gladsaxe meets Esbjerg fB at Blue Water Arena at 19:00 tomorrow, Friday 31 May 2024.
It’s Esbjerg fB’s first home game after they secured promotion to the 1st division last week with a 2-0 victory over Middelfart in Middelfart. It was a result that bit ØDthat the supreme top team, which has led the 2nd division all season, secured at least a 2nd place and thus promotion. So AB is waiting for a festive Blue Water Arena.

It will be interesting to see how Esbjerg fB takes on the fight. Will there be more playing time for players who have not played so much throughout the season and will there be other tactical dispositions.
It is Esbjerg fB who have revenge to come, because AB won the last clash with 2-1 at home in Gladsaxe on April 14. AB’s goals were scored by Darren Sidoel and O’Vonte Mullings.
It was the first game in the promotion play-offs and a much-needed win after AB hadn’t won for a long period. It was a game where AB had changed the style of play. They played with short, fast combinations in the passing game and the long balls were no longer dominant. It was a game where there were also often two men in front. It is a style of play that AB still practices.
AB is still number 6 in the table with 34 points and played 3-3 last time out against FC Roskilde – incidentally, the 12th draw of the season.

The match will also be interesting now that it is AB’s new head coach Joey Gudjonsson who is in charge of the team and thus makes his debut.
AB’s head coach Joey Gudjonsson says after thatGens training: “I’m really looking forward to the game. It’s my first game with AB, and it will be a proud moment for myself. I have really enjoyed the first week of training with the players and staff. Everyone has welcomed me very well and it has been a good experience for me. I’m excited and looking forward to the game. We will go to the game and put in a good performance. If the players go to the game and play in the same way as in training this week, then we will get a good result.
It has been really good to have Fabiana here. She has welcomed me very well, has shown me around and introduced me to the players. I am sure that we will have a very good cooperation. I hope that already in the first game you can see parts of my style of play. I can see from the players that they can perform more than they have done this season. We have a lot of good technical players, we can create good chances, and we can defend as a team and stand together and stand better defensively. There are many good players and they are all willing to work very hard. They are good players with good grades. You will probably see a slightly more massive defense, where it will be more difficult to get through – but we will also attack with speed, power, quality and score some goals”.
