AB writes with Yushi Yamaya

AB has signed a deal with 23-year-old winger Yushi Yamaya until the summer of 2026. Yamaya is a product of Yokohama Marinos and had its development under then Yokohama manager Ante Postecoglu for three years. He made his debut for Postecoglu’s team in the J-League in 2019.

“We are very excited to have Yushi in AB. You have to have special skills to have played at the highest level in Japan like he did,” says head coach David Roufpanah.

“When Yushi came to practice before the winter break, he clearly showed that he has attacking qualities that will help the team.”

Yamaya, who can play all positions in attack, scored 2 goals in 10 appearances for Yokohama’s first team before moving to Geylang International in the Singapore Premier League in February 2023.

For Geylang, he scored 10 goals and made 7 assists during the 2023 season.

“I’m excited to get started. I have got a good impression of the club, and I look forward to meeting all our fans very soon,” says Yamaya himself.
